    All this discussion really means nothing. What DOES mean something is that the Sox are WeLL on their way to their 3rd last place ALEast finish in Bloom’s 4 years inBoston. That is FACT and REAITY.

    I think our farm system is over-rated. Yes it is better than it was but name me ONE top pitching prospect anywhere near MLB ready Bloom has brought in.

    No the issue is that Bloom let all those guys walk as FA'S and with the Paxton signing putting the team over the cap we get pretty much nothing in return for all those guys.

    The Sox really have no top pitching prospects on the farm anywhere close to being mLB ready.

    You missed the most important achievement of all by Bloom. He has pared the Sox payroll from among the top 3 or 4 in MLB to now #11 and kept the team "somewhat" competitive if you can call 2 of his seasons in last place such.

    Yoshida has been an excellent signing. I am not the biggest Bloom fan but he deserves credit for signing him.

    I refuse to read when people's opinions get personal and insulting. This is a discussion board where people have the opportunity to share their opinions without ridicule.

    Sox are 11th in MLB payroll now and these were the orders Henry gave to Bloom. I place most of the blame on John Henry who I wish would sell the team. Bloom simply has to follow orders.

    there are plenty of other threads for this discussion. i came here to read about the pitching beyond 2023. hopefully Bloom realizes we have enough SS in our system and instead drafts the best available PITCHER in this June draft.

    I agree that this JDM for Turner switch is not hurting the team. problem is the team is on the hook for 2 years at MORE money for Turner than the LAD signed JDM for on only a 1 yr deal. Not to mention the difference in ages.

    Sox are about a 525 team. Accept it and move on. They are just lucky there is a balanced schedule this year.

    you are right that Turner is simply a 1 year stopgap. Problem is - a stop gap to who??? Or will Bloom just simply bring in another stop gap for next year??

    I think many on here are rooting for Duran but he's really not a kid anymore. I believe he's 27 and based on one of his strengths being his speed he needs to bunt and steal bases more than he does.

    i hardly think the jury is still out at this point. Yoshida obviously belongs in MLB
