  1. he would simply be a bench player for any contender
  2. Ohtani is a great player but he will not be worth the massive contract he is going to get. I would be very worried about an arm injury
  3. Following another last place finish in 2024?
  4. If Bloom makes that trade then he needs to be fired IMMEDATELY !! when are people going to realize that you need to DEVELOP your OWN homegrown pitchers OR trade for COST CONTOLLED PITCHERS UNDER 26 YRS OLD. This was the model in Tampa where this buffoon Bloom came from. Tampa loaded up on young top cost controlled P and got their best results on entry level contracts. Then when they hit 27-29 yrs old they were dealt for more young top cost controlled P. Bloom has done ZERO of this in Boston. Ohtani's best days are in 2024 and MAYBE 2025 and then it is downhill. Let someone else pay the OVERWHELMING price for him !!!
  5. You mean pitching !!!
  6. i am ok with either since the Sox need C prospects as well
  7. MLB pulled off a GREAT move by letting that kid make the Mariner's 1st rd pick. Very inspiring. Well done MLB !!
  8. i understand that
  9. well maybe those teams don't have the same M/L depth the Sox do
  10. Another SP drafted at #16. So much for the theory that teams don't value P in the 1st rd. Bloom needs to focus on power arms now.
  11. Nonetheless they drafted him as a C first.
  12. Well he's NOT a SS--Sox system is lacking as bad at the C position as they are at P. They drafted Teel because he was a C and ranked higher then they were picking. Bloom shocked the MLB world again.
  13. There see I'm not so stupid after all. We need a good C prospect too.
  14. next up is Bloom with his shock the world pick. Waldrep or Steele will make me happy.
  15. Rated by pretty much everybody. There was general SHOCK when Bloom took Yorke with that 1st rd pick.
  16. Well 4 of the top 10 picks so far have been pitchers. just saying. keeping my fingers crossed for Waldrep but like I said I am going to lose it if Bloom takes some guy ranked way below where we are picking.
  17. BTW Chase Dollander a RHP from Tennessee is ranked #14 right where we pick. at #11 is another pitcher Noble Meyer. Could he slide to #14? Hurston Waldrep is another SP we could have in our decisions. I will tell you that I am gonna lose it if Bloom takes some guy ranked well south of #14.
  18. and Casas goes where?? Myself I am not in favour of Doing a guy 24 or 25 years old.
  19. and where is Jordan going to play?
  20. My problem with Yorke is that he was rated at least 100 spots below where he was drafted and Bloom likely could have gotten him in the 3rd rd as we didn't have a 2nd rd pick that year. Hey I've already resigned myself to the fact that Bloom will be drafting another HS hitter because that's what pretty much always does. If the guy ends up being a player he likely won't be in Boston til 2027 or maybe late 2026.
  21. well I am counting this year too because i simply don't see us as better than any of the other AL East teams.
  22. Well I wanted them to SELL. Right now I am undecided but my gut tells me the right thing to do is to at least partially sell. Even with our recent hot spell BTW--we are stiil in last place.
  23. no doubt Bloom has done sone good things but this is a results oriented business and the results have not been great. Pretty sure Henry is tying his hands some though.
