  1. Just get the A’s GM drunk.
  2. Goo wasn’t hurt when we signed him, unlike the others listed by Duran, and he only listed a few
  3. If Brez did this, some would be irate!
  4. In theory, we should be able to trade Arias or Romero, but with so many swings and misses at fixing 2B and injury issues with Story and Mayer, maybe we keep the depth. K Campbell’s position is unknown, but 2B looks like a very long shot. The OF remains the likeliest place to find a valuable player to trade. Even if Refsnyder retires, we still have Yoshida as an emergency LF option and possibly Romy, too, Once Jh Garcia is promoted, and to me he is the real deal, we’ll have 5 solid OFers who can all play plus D: Rafaela CF maybe RF Abreu RF-can play LF but why? Duran LF/CF Anthony LF/RF msybe CF Garcia CF/RF/LF Down the road: Bleis, Gonzales, Tibbs and maybe Cespedes. I see Romy taking on Refsnyder’s role but he can’t play 1B and 2B or platoon at DH with Yoshida. Our biggest everyday player need area is a LHB firstbaseman/ corner IF depth and back up catcher. That’s assuming Bregman returns. Not bad, really.
  5. My guess is we don’t do anything huge at the deadline. We may trade for a big salary, so the return may not need to be great. We may trade some borderline or blocked prospects for a rental or two. I'm hoping if we make a big deal it will be for controlled #2 SP.
  6. I hate bunting. there are times it is worth it, and keeping the infield in to keep them honest adds value.

  8. Shows what you know, Clown!!! Toro and Yoshida had most of the hits!!!
  9. maybe Brez saw something I. holibetz
  10. When your farm is so heavily tilted towards hitters, drafting 70% pitchers is “balancing it.” the idea would be to go 50-50 once it’s balanced.
  11. Yikes! Even I have to say no, but with arm twisted. I know I’m guilty of just throwing out more names, but I’d really try to find a way to keep Mayer and Anthony. giving them the next best 4 or 5 of the next best 7 probably gets a no. im off to Maine now
  12. These teams that state “We are not trading ___” just mean they need to be blown away to change their minds.
  13. Yes, I knew this would be your answer.
  14. That was a factor, IMO. It brought the team together in a focused way,
  15. They do but after August 14th I think it will be middlish
  16. One could also argue that some our everyday prospects poised to jump into the top 10 did not impress enough, this year, to jump or stay ahead of some pitchers that have looked real good. Bleis, Cespedes and Castro Jordan and Romero jumped up but were too far behind to jump way up to top 5 or 10. Gonzalez is a possibility. I’m higher on Jo Garcia than most, but hes too far away to be top 10. Arias has fallen back some, while Jh Garcia is looking for real!
  17. MVP may still think we wasted money on those two deals.
  18. Would you trade Yoshida, Hendricks and Buehler for Devers?
  19. I agree. Don’t we often hear several quotes when top players are traded. when one is traded from a contending team for prospects, projects and partial salary comp, usually someone bitches about the teams willingness to try and win to me the silence is deafening, and I’m a Devers fan who wishes he was still batting second, but playing 1B.
