    and there damn well should have been! after three straight AL East titles and a World Championship, his team has an off year and finishes a disappointing 3rd with 84 wins. after that, JH does what any sane mega-billionaire owner with a successful team does. he fired the sumbitch.

    i have no idea what JH wants from Bloom, but what he's doing isn't working for me. i don't like finishing last or next to last every year with a crap team. and when they finish last next year, i have no doubt that Bloom's defenders will say it's really a 8 year plan or some ******** to cover up the incompetence of Bloom and his front office. sure, i'm happy the farm is "top 5" but until that translates into wins for the Sox, i really don't care.

    i've been waiting for someone to defend BLoom's ineptitude by saying it's really just a 6 or 7 or 10 year plan to get out of the cellar. c'mon Moon, admit defeat, Bloom has been a huge disaster and we all know it.

    the dodgers are and have been paying Trevor Bauer $23 million for less than we got from Sale and they seem to be doing fine. yes, the contract sucks, but that's no excuse for the s***** job that Bloom has done.

    the fact that, as the #1 (or #2) man in the rotation, he only started 9 games this year (instead of ~30), means he cost the team a hell of a lot more than 1 game. i'd say his complete ineffectiveness cost the team about 15 games this year. in summary, he was a giant pile of s*** on the mound and a complete waste of $10 million.

    i believe that he means that most all owners pay their player salaries exclusively from income generated by the franchise and nothing out of his own pocket. Cohen might be the exception to that.

    yeah, Kluber pitched 164 innings in 2022, but the previous three years before that were 80, 1 and 35, respectively. i think it was pretty obvious his Cy Young days were long past. i wasn't upset he was signed, but i felt like Wacha proved he himself for the Sox last year and they definitely had the money to sign him. and with a team desperate for pitching, who the f*** passes up on somebody like this? i'll end with this: Kluber's '22 bWAR is -0.9, Wacha's is 2.4.
