we just see it differently. i think Devers was worth more in trade and others think he wasn't worth much at all. don't get me wrong, i'm glad he's gone; i just think the return should have been better.
i certainly like the fact that he added Bregman, Chapman and Crochet. now, what he needs to do is get Chapman back for at least one more year, Bregman for multiple and add a #2 starter.
Jim Ed and Devers through age 27 season. Jim Ed leads in nearly every significant catergory and this is with one less season than Devers. adding another season for Rice and he leads in everything but doubles, BB and strikeouts.
too bad they traded Quinn Priester for a guy hitting .206 in A ball and an A ball pitcher that may or may not ever make it anywhere. the Brewers are still laughing at Bres over that one.
i don't understand why more guys, who would never otherwise make it, don't try throwing a knuckleball -a pitch that has to be easier on the arm. guys like Wakefield, the Niekros, Charlie Hough, etc. had extended successful knuckleball careers.
