  1. I’ve never been a Devers Forevers guy, and I’ve said more than once that IMO Devers was signed where Bogey, and Mookie wasn’t, because he was the last man standing. Raffy doesn’t care IMO that Bregman is a better 3B just like Bogey didn’t care that Story was a better SS. The Red Sox was Bogey’s team, and the Red Sox are Raffy’s team, and they both won championships with the Red Sox. Bregman is pretty much on 3 one year contracts, and Raffy might not want to move for an outsider who may be in Boston for only 1 year, or most likely any other reason either. Like I said Raffy feels betrayed, and lied to, and for Cora to say Bloom isn’t here now who made the promise to Raffy doesn’t change anything in Raffy’s mind. I hope Raffy sticks to his guns, and no I don’t think that makes him a bad teammate. All this noise is great for all the talk shows, and outside venues. Raffy is not a good 3B, but that hasn’t bothered me as much as it has you, and others. I believe MVP said the Red Sox haven’t been a losing out of the postseason team the last 3 years, because Raffy has been at 3B, and that’s why it hasn’t bothered me as much, and I don’t believe now that where Raffy plays will make, or break the season.
  2. Raffy acted the same way Cora thought he would. If Friday was the first time Raffy was talked to about moving off 3B then that’s is not a good plan IMO. Raffy feels he was betrayed, and lied to about being the long term 3B, and if that is the case I don’t blame him for acting like he is, and nor should it surprise anyone.
  3. I can’t speak for Brez, or Cora, but I’ve NEVER said that I thought Bregman at 2B, and Devers at 3B is better, so that is fake news, so it’s kind of hard to be wrong on that. The only thing I have said is that as the roster stands today without any additions, or subtractions I thought Bregman would be the 2B, because that’s what I think the Red Sox will do. Once again what the Red Sox will do. Not what I would do. Of course I’m not honed in on every word to try, and fathom the meaning of what the Red Sox will do either. I didn’t hear anything at the press conference today that I didn’t expect to hear, and was I looking for anything.
  4. One thing you should have learned long ago is how you see things, and how the Red Sox see things, and what they do about it is usually the opposite of what you predict, suggests, or anything else you want to call it. I’ll just wait, and see what happens . I’m pretty sure when the brain trust of the Red Sox say roster construction it has a different meaning as how you see it, It always has, but who knows you may actually turn out to be right this time, but either way I’m not going to lose any sleep, or pop the champagne cork waiting to find out. I’m just gonna wait.
  5. R O S T E R C O N S T R U C T I O N.🤫
  6. How about given props to TW, and JH who both personally called Boras to get the Bregman deal done?
  7. I watched in real time, and I think just, because something hasn’t been announced doesn’t mean a decision hasn’t been made.
  8. I don’t think what was said today, or wasn’t said today means anything more, or anything less than what Cora said the other day that Raffy was the 3B.
  9. The only thing new to me if only for a second was Boras with a Red Sox hat on his head.
  10. I didn’t know anybody was worked up about the press conference. It was just said more than once that the roster construction would determine who plays where. Sounds pretty self explanatory to me. Transparent as transparent can be.
  11. I don’t know if Brez came up with that, or Sam?
  12. More like the old Red Sox would be more like it, but now salaries have gone out of whack, and teams have passed the Red Sox, and the Red Sox aren’t one of the Big boys anymore. I don’t think Yoshida is considered any kind of depth.
  13. I’m sure everyone watched the Red Sox press conference today introducing Bregman (how about when Bregman put that Red Sox hat on Borasses head? It didn’t stay long), but the two key words today was Roster Construction, which was used more than once. That will decide who plays where. Remember. Roster Construction.
  14. What should the Red Sox do if Seattle gave the Red Sox two options on a trade for Castillo? Masa/Kut Man, or Masa/Casas? Do you have to go to BTV to decide?🙈
  15. Fans wanted the Red Sox to be like the Dodgers? Fans wanted to see the Red Sox clog up their line up? How many of the Good Red Sox teams going back to 1967 didn’t have pretty much everyday lineups? How many of the recent bad teams didn’t have mostly everyday lineups? If Story, Casas, and Grissom, and Masa for that matter hadn’t gotten hurt, and turned out better last year the Red Sox would have had a mostly everyday lineup.
  16. Even Story, and Sale were healthy before coming to Boston.
  17. BTV doesn’t have a clue what Seattle would do. How many teams out there would want the Kut Man over Casas?
  18. I think the Red Sox interest in the Castillo ship has sailed when Seattle said NO on Casas, and won’t be coming back.
  19. If Seattle turned down Casas/ Yoshida for Castillo I don’t think subbing Kut Man for Casas would even come close to closing the deal.
  20. Like I said yesterday as the roster stands today I think Bregman starts at 2B, and Masa is not a problem, but any additions like Campbell as a 2B, and Bregman moves to 3B, and Raffy has to go somewhere 1B/DH, and Masa is the odd man out. Most posters on here want Masa moved dumb criticism, or not. Like I’ve said many times the Red Sox are playing the hand they have dealt themselves, and the addition of Bregman gives them a new hand.
  21. To some he’s clogging up the roster, and lineup.
  22. A lingering knee problem since last season is not a good sign.
  23. Right now his health is up in the air.
  24. Remember the Red Sox reportedly discussed a Casas for Castillo trade at the Winter Meetings, and tried to throw in Masa, and it was a no go for Seattle, so I don’t think Seattle has any interest.
  25. I know you have a thing for the DHam, Romy, Ref Man’s of the world, and there is nothing wrong with that, but I don’t like the constant revolving door that’s been at 2B for a few years now, and I don’t see it as being needed this year. Romy, and DHam are both backups, and that should be their only role IMO. Bregman at 2B if that’s the plan takes care of that.
