  1. Gee maybe the players will have to get off season jobs like they used to if they can’t make ends meet.
  2. Say the all the quote not just part of it. I don’t care about prospects until they produce something in a Red Sox uniform, but the Sea Dogs are baseball, and I watch the local colleges too.
  3. Exactly. They all are.
  4. Like I said earlier poor, poor players they are not, and I’d enjoy the SeaDogs just as much as the RS.
  5. With an average salary of 4+M the players are far from poor, poor players.
  6. I’m not with either side, but if you think the player cares about you the fan I don’t think think is close to be true, and they are just as greedy as the owners. If they want more money let them become owners. Greedy, and greedier, and the fan sits back, and takes it all, and pays more, and more.time for the fan to take a stand.
  7. I said it back in 72, and it still holds true today, but how insane was that the powers at be didn’t make sure everyone played the same amount of games.
  8. If that happens then both sides deserve to lose money.
  9. That may be true, but like I keep saying I have NO sympathy for either side. They are both greedy, and the fans allow them to be that way.
  10. Lock both sides in a room till this gets settled.
  11. It still comes down to Millionaires, and Billionaires fighting over a bigger slice of the pie that I could care less if either side gets.
  12. The problem is who would make them do something like this? The owners won’t force that upon themselves.
  13. Unless the bottom payroll teams are made to spend I don’t think it will happen especially if they are like you said running the negotiations for the owners.
  14. It would just be so much easier if there were not only a floor, and a ceiling, and a hard floor, and a ceiling.
  15. JBJ has hit below 250 6 times out of his 9 years in the majors, and 3 of those years were below 200, so it’s not like he was a Silver Slugger candidate before he got traded.
  16. I get that, and there are lots of decisions to be made starting with Bogey, and Raffy, and then replacing JD, Evol, and Kike at the very least just for this year, and next.
  17. Maybe, but prospects aren’t going to help the 2022 team if at all, and there is also a good possibility that JBJ doesn’t help much either with the bat.
  18. Agreed this is what we were talking about about was a RH bat for the outfield, and not what the rest of the team had. Improving the D was needed all over.
  19. I’m not all that impressed with the starting rotation at this point. Sale has to come back, and Evol has to be good, but the rest with Whack a is a crapshoot.
  20. Agree, and this is why the JBJ trade didn’t make sense prospects, or not. A RH bat would have been a bigger need.
  21. One of the worst things going right now in baseball is if you have someone good who is young you have to pony up $300M+ to keep them, and even then you might not be able to keep them, because someone will offer more. Soto didn’t sign, so now you have a choice to think about trading him, or not. I think the Red Sox are in the same situation right now with Raffy. They could offer him a contract, but he might not sign, so then what do you do?
  22. If Suzuki is signed I think that changes things, but not for the better for Duran. I don’t see much of a chance for Duran unless Kike goes full time to 2B.
  23. I think we could have gotten more for Mookie if he would have been traded a year earlier, but to not get pitching back wasn’t as good as it should have been.
  24. I’m with you on that, because outside of him running like a deer I don’t know if he lives up to some of his hype. I think this will be a big year for him to Judge either way. Hopefully Suzuki lands in Boston.
  25. OK I get that, but like I said I know how you feel about Raffy.
