  1. Quite a bargain for3.1 this year, so looks like a little salary bump for next year.
  2. The O’s are minor league.
  3. I’ll say the same thing I said last week if the Sox just take care of their own business it won’t matter what the other teams do. If they don’t like last weekend then it’s a different story.
  4. Arroyo is always hurt, so I wouldn’t count on him Iggy, or not.
  5. My bad. You are 100% correct.
  6. That was a long time ago when Arroyo was playing good D, and hitting. People are assuming that Arroyo will be the second baseman come playoff time, and he might not be.
  7. Iggy should play until they clinch. He has shored up the D, and hit well also. They don’t owe Arroyo anything.
  8. My bad I glanced real quick, and saw one of the games against Tampa that Sale pitched he went 3.2, and gave up 10 hits, and 5 runs, but only 1 was earned, and not 5. Listen I like Sale, and he is better than Richards in the rotation, but I just think he’s been given to much credit for the games he’s pitched that the Sox have scored tons of runs for him, and Richards has it has turned out has been pretty valuable in the bullpen especially since the starters have a hard time getting through 5.
  9. The Sox stored 66 runs in Sale’s 7 starts, and he has a ERA of around 7 in the two games against TB, so I don’t think they are where they are so much, because of Sale, and he gets to pitch anther game against the minor league O’S.
  10. I’m very well aware what Sale is coming off, but if he is ready to pitch he’s ready to pitch, and I’m not going to nitpick on who he pitches against like the Sox have. I’m also not counting on Sale to lead them to, or through the playoffs. If it’s the Yankees then EO gets the ball.
  11. I wouldn’t take a pitcher out like Cora has with Houck more than once even though he was pitching good just, because I’m afraid of what might happen. Nonsense to me.
  12. Well said, and if it was me I’d make a starter go 6 to classify as a win. The Red Sox announcers make it sound like a big deal when Sale pitches, and calls it a Sale day. Has he gone 6 this year? It’s just ridiculous that a starter can’t throw 100 pitches, or get into the 7th anymore.
  13. Can we at least get everyone playing by the same rules? It’s been been about 50 years with the DH, but only for one league. It just doesn’t make sense for all these years to have different rules. I don’t care which way it goes, but just make it that everyone plays the same. Having said that the best way is for everyone to play the same schedule, and the teams with the best record however many teams you want goes to the playoffs. To get more teams involved you go to all these divisions, and keeps adding teams. It depends on how watered down you want to make things.
  14. Excellent post. The quality of play is nothing compared to the 60’s, and 70’s. Maury Wills would have no place in today’s game, and like you said not enough good players to go around to fill all the teams. Just look at all the talent in the Sox bullpen, or lack of. Baltimore has been nothing more than a minor league team for years that hopefully the Sox can beat up on this week again.
  15. I’ll say the season has been surprising, but there has been some real bad baseball that was played this season. Bad pitching, bad defense, and bad base running, which was topped off last night by two teams that looked like little leaguers at times who couldn’t catch the ball, or knew how to run the bases. Lke I said earlier at this point I could care less if the Sox get on the plane to Baltimore.
  16. I’m a Sox fan to for over 60 years, but Sale is only a 5 inn pitcher at best, and EO would be a better choice, but I would favor Cole in any matchup against the Sox. Like I keep saying head to head the Yankees have the Sox number right now.
  17. I don’t care what the Sox, or the Yankees have done in their last 28. I only care what they do head to head. If they play a 1 game that is what will happen head to head.
  18. Like I asked in a 1 game would you want Cole against the Sox, , or Sale, or EO against the Yankees on how things are going now. I’ll take Cole against the Sox. Don’t care what they did in Apr, May, and June.
  19. Either way I’d take him in my outfield any day.
  20. You are nit picking the 10-9 against the Yankees. I look at 3-9 in the last 12.
  21. Bottom line if the Sox, and Yankees square off in a 1 game would you rather have Cole going against the Sox hitters, or Sale, or EO who can’t go 6 against the Yankees no matter where they play. That is what you got to look forward to.
  22. I believe the Yankees are 9-3 against the Sox in the last 12. That says it all.
  23. Head to head the Yankees are just a better team now than the Sox.
  24. We have Barnes who can blow it, and the Yankees have Chapman who can do the same. One last chance.
  25. Perfect night for Bobby D. 4 K’s, and a missed popup.
