  1. Maybe also he needed the sticky stuff.
  2. I’m not counting on Barnes for anything, and I don’t think he should be plan A to start the season.
  3. Depth in the pen? Quality depth? Who is going to close? If either Houck, or Whitlock start you have even less quality in the pen.
  4. People have mentioned more than once on here how John Henry has spent money on the payroll, and how they are near the top on the payroll figures, so unless they have tons of injuries in a given year there shouldn’t be ANY bottom on the standing finishes.
  5. I don’t think Duran is in their major plans at this moment, but that could change maybe with a hot ST as short as it is.
  6. I see Whacka as the starter, and Whitlock in the pen. Barnes, or no Barnes can’t be counted on.
  7. Next year could be even more for the roster turnover.
  8. Is your favorite JBJ trade going to be the Sox blockbuster this off season?
  9. I agree with mostly everything, but I guess we just see rebuild a little different. Sale, ERod, Evol, Barnes, and then the O of RaffY, Bogey, JD, Duggy, and Vaz just seems like a lot of talent to not expect a winning team, or called a rebuild, but I see where your coming from With lots of coming, and going of players.
  10. That’s the way it should be.
  11. That’s what he gets paid the big bucks for to get it right more often than wrong.
  12. Everyone comments on every move, and also the net results.
  13. I judge Bloom separately on every move, and then the the final outcome.
  14. Throw out the 2020season, and go from 2019 to 2021. Would you still have thought that 2021 would not be a decent team. To much stock by some were put into 2020.
  15. There is no doubt the 2020 team was kind of split. You had some real good players, and you had some who really sucked, and JD was one of the ones that sucked, but there was enough talent to start the season in 2021 to think they could be decent, and that was not counting on Sale. Getting E Rod back was huge. The bargain basement signings were stop gap last year, and this year too, but I don’t think the Red Sox are in any kind of rebuild. Next year could be the major rebuild.
  16. Boggy, Devers, JD, Duggy, E Rod, and Sale coming back to me is not any kind of rebuild, and before last season started I expected them to be a decent team. Throw 2020 right out the window, and there was still plenty of talent on the team to be decent plus JD was getting his binky iPad back.
  17. Mookie was a fan favorite, and a great player, but I wouldn’t want to still have to pay him all that money for 11 more years.
  18. Mookie basically got traded, because he didn’t want to stay. Boggy wants to stay, but I don’t know if that will happen either.
  19. Was pitching good for the O’s, but sucked with the Sox.
  20. No matter how things start out there had better be a plan B, and maybe more than that.
  21. Are you asking Bloom?
  22. This is the example of Bloom throwing spaghetti against the wall to see if any sticks.
  23. We’ve gone round, and round on this outfield D alignment 100 times over if not more. To say the situation becomes very clear if the Red Sox sign Suzuki to anybody, but Cora is expecting to know something that they don’t. I didn’t like the JBJ trade as it was with the idea of him playing being one of the worst hitters in baseball last year, and for the most part not having a great track record with the bat in his career prior to that, and now you’re gong to make him, and his $10M salary a 4th OF, and defensive replacement. That makes the trade to me even worse, and more than a head scratcher. Prospects, or not.
  24. Well said, and like I’ve been saying take care of your own guys first.
  25. You’re right about my position on the spending at least for this year. Next year money will have to be spent if Bogey, JD, and Evol are gone, and Price comes off the books, and lots of money should be there to spend. I agree on the rest especially about getting better pitching.
