Yes Vaz is, but if he came back to Boston he would resume being the #1 catcher. Like I keep saying Reese, and Wong are nothing, but backups.

Last year was last year, but the limitations on Kike’s hot streak certainly didn’t help him, or carry into this year. Kike sucked from day 1 this year, and long before he got hurt. He really didn’t make it over 200 until the end of May, so while it was great what he did in the 2021 postseason he was just the opposite this year, and just pretty much sucked.

Vaz had a lot of big clutch hits though.

There has been rumors of seeing Bloom driving a sanitation truck in other cities around MLB.

The Red Sox were going to need a 4th OF to start the season anyways, but Bloom exasperated the problem with the trade for JBJ that made the OF go from a need to a higher need, and that also cost more.

Duran, Downs, and Franchy to me is 3 names that could just go away.

I don’t know why Duran Duran The Butterfly Man is even mentioned anymore, but even as a 4th OF for the Ref I think you still need a plan B for that.

I did not say you claimed anything about JBJ, and was my addressing the overall problem, and I agree with you that Bloom, and Cora FU.

Refsnyder had been nothing, but a journeyman OF, so why would he had been given much of a thought. Now if Refsnyder had been given the shot in ST, and turned out like he did I agree with you. That still wouldn’t have made up for the JBJ failed return though.

The addition of Story had nothing to do with not needing a RH OF. The fact that Arroyo went out, and tried to play RF showed that, and showed what a lack of, or bad plan it was. As it turned out with JBJ, and Kike both sucking with the bat injury, or not showed even more was needed. Waiting until August to get someone like Pham was to little to late.

Yes, but only to a point. I’m not for signing Bogey at any cost, and I would say the same with Mookie, or Raffy.

The Yankees have their own things that haven’t Bloomed, but that doesn’t take away all that what I think was spot on about the Red Sox.

When I typed in Boston Red Sox yesterday that was one of the things on there. I didn’t say it was objective, and I didn’t say it was news, and I knew it was an opinion piece, but aside from all of that I thought it was pretty much spot on. Just another opinion that wouldn’t have happened probably if the Red Sox were not a losing, and last place team, and hadn’t made the lowballed contract offer that they had made to Bogey. I’m sure that’s not the only opinion like that out there from other organizations, or fans. Seriously!

I found the article when I looked up Boston Red Sox news today, which said Red Sox incompetence on Bogey. I suppose it good be found on Yanks Go Yard.

Wow! Comparing Bogey’s leaving to Vaz, and Plawecki? No doubt Bogey’s production was down this year, but I don’t think he is washed up, and done at only 30.
