  1. Raffy Devers, and the ????????? Sounds like a winning combination to me.
  2. And like I keep asking why do we have to keep talking, or settling on skimping? Ref Man, Duran, and Arroyo or the likes. Bloom needs to go out, and make some trades that I kept hearing he was going to do.
  3. I agree, and if the Red Sox have sunken that low, and that cheap that Kike has to come in, and play SS, and Arroyo plays 2B, and Duran plays, or tries to play CF then what did they sign Raffy for outside of PR?
  4. Like I said last year that Duran should have stayed down in the instructional league until he learns how to track a fly ball, and yes wait for it, and doesn’t look like he’s trying to catch butterflies without a net.
  5. Not all minor league players are prospects, and some are just suspects, which is what Duran has become.
  6. He should have gone with Jeter.
  7. Still pretty young too.
  8. Table scraps are table scraps no matter what the payroll is.
  9. Here are the Boston Red Sox a big market club at that, and we are talking like this is like the last rounds of a fantasy draft, and we are fending for table scraps. Have we sunken this low?
  10. And to think this offseason started off with Bloom making good additions to the BP. That looks like so long ago now, and maybe even less impressive, or important.
  11. Unfortunately there isn’t much options for next man up. Duran was supposed to be next man up, and maybe a couple of years ago Jeter Downs would have been looked at as a next man up by now. The cupboard is pretty bare right now for position players that are ready.
  12. I would even play the Ref Man full time over Duran.
  13. No. I’m still looking for SS/2B.
  14. Josh Taylor, and Red Sox avoid arbitration on a $1.025 deal. Meah.
  15. MLB offseason grades are in per CBS. The Red Sox got a ringing endorsement with a C-, which was brought up from an F with the Raffy signing. The good news is the O’s got a D, so there is still hope.
  16. Like I have said many times that Casas has plenty of promise, but nothing more than that at this point, so I don’t think anyone is ignoring him, but just waiting to see it happening.
  17. I agree, and the SS position even before Story went down was a big secret.
  18. Kike, and Arroyo are still there, and I believe one of them were going to the the 2B anyway, before Story blew his tire.
  19. From the not so great Rick Pitino. All the negativity in this town sucks.
  20. It’s would had been 3 yrs next month that ownership had taken any questions from the media per Peter Abraham. Maybe Werner should have waited another 3 years. The clock is still ticking on JH though.
  21. I agree with you, but Cora was by reports going to put Story at SS. I heard Jeff Bagwell, and Craig Biggio voiced an opinion that they knew Story would need surgery too, and I guess they know something about IF arms. I get that Story looked great at 2B last year, but how many good SS wouldn’t look good at 2B? To me though he was a SS first, and I don’t see how it was wrong to think that way since I hadn’t heard he was still having throwing problems. To me another one of those shouldn’t have been signed in the first place.
  22. So to you the bad elbow is, and was not the problem? I know you are criticizing me for saying Story should be playing SS, and that’s fine, but by the reports I’ve heard Story was planning on playing SS this year, so you are also criticizing Bloom, and Cora, which is fine too.
  23. Per Buster Onley some teams passed on Trevor Story last spring, because of fear of story needing elbow surgery. I guess the Red Sox weren’t one of them, and to let Bogey go as well. What a plan that was!
  24. I didn’t watch the Raffy press conference yesterday, but I heard it was quite the dog, and pony show with lots of back slapping going on with each other, and self too. Even Tom Werner showed up. No JH, and I’m guessing he is still unhappy he had to shell out a lot more money than he wanted to, or had to, because of not locking Raffy up a year, or two earlier.
  25. Love him, or hate him, but I’d say this sums things up pretty well as they stand today.with, or without Story that won’t make, or break the season.would he have helped sure, and will he hurt not being there a yes too, but not to the extent that he would make a difference in a postseason berth, or not. Story Land was closed more often then it was open last year.
