  1. Kike is a good defensive CF, but I just don’t see him as being as great as others do.
  2. If you want to go that way why sign Devers at all? You are not serious to compare Kike to Raffy. Kike is a career 239 hitter who is still living off a hot streak in the 2021 post season. I think Raffy has accomplished a little bit more than that. Raffy is the face of the franchise, and Kike is, and has been just a stopgap that’s Cora’s favorite son.
  3. A 2-5 home stand comes to an end, and it actually could have been worse. If not for 1 big inning against Cincinnati, and 1 big inning against Tampa it could have been very easily 0-7. If you look at the stats the Red Sox are up to the top in runs scored, but if you’ve been watching the eye test will tell they are not that good especially the last 2-3 weeks. They knocked around a batting practice pitcher in Arizona, and had the two big innings I mentioned earlier, but outside of that the offense has been pretty weak. Same with Raffy his power numbers are pretty good, but if you have watched the eye test has shown you there have been more power outages than not. Sinking farther in the standings, but still 100 games to go, so there is still plenty of time, but if the bats don’t come around there is no hope for making up for the starting pitching, and the D.
  4. I wouldn’t go that far, but at any rate his 228 BA isn’t, and hasn’t been good enough to keep him in the lineup everyday.
  5. Merloni isn’t great, but he is better than all the other Yuckers they parade out. Just like the product on the field the product in the booth is second rate too.
  6. Wait until after June 6 his first game in Portland.
  7. Cora is still living off the 2018 team. Even though I like Cora as I have stated before I wouldn’t have hired him back in the first place.
  8. I keep hearing now is not the time to go all in, so my big question what are we going to wait for, and how long are we just going to just be hovering around last place, and get back to relevance like the Red Sox use to be. Still a long way to go this season, but another dismal last place finish would be 3-4, and 6 out of the last 12. Are we waiting for Casas, Mayer, and whoever else to lead us to the promise land? Something that may never happen. I’ve said from day 1 of Bloom being hired that he was not going to be good, and now this is year 4 of his so called regime, and except for maybe a higher farm ranking I don’t think this team is any closer to the top then it was 4 years ago. Things aren’t awesome although some were getting pretty giddy on here when the Red Sox were going through their winning streak, which now seems like a long time ago. Bloom to me brings nothing, but gloom, and doom. Instead of someone saying Mookie who, which was said recently during the past Winning streak, but Bloom who.
  9. Tickets bought, or actual attendance?
  10. One on here wanted to give Flintstone Schwaber a lifetime contract during the 2021 postseason run. How would that have been?
  11. He’s Cora’s favorite son. End of story.
  12. They didn’t expect it to be this bad again.
  13. NO ONE including me said they should have kept JD. Pointing out he is having a better year with the bat than Turner is not saying JD should have been resigned. I was all for letting him go, and liked the Turner signing.
  14. Kike may be a good CF, but I didn’t think he should have been resigned, and I said so at the time. I also said Story was going to be the SS this year, which he was until he was hurt when others on here said he would stay at 2B.
  15. You’re comparing Casas with Mookie, and Boggs? Wow! Boggs was one of a kind who would take two strikes right down the middle, and foul 6-7 tough pitches off to get another good pitch to hit. I don’t think Casa is in that category.
  16. The Bra Man has signed a minor league contract with the Dodgers. Oh how the rich gets richer. Streakman to Tampa, and now this.
  17. Criticize my guy Bloom after the fact with the IF/Kike situation on what you would have done.
  18. You mean like swinging the bat, and looking for a hit first instead of a walk, and stop taking all those called third strikes.
  19. That we agree on.
  20. You mean t like you did with the IF situation? Doesn’t Bloom get paid big bucks to do his job?
  21. I agree that Perez didn’t deserve any more time, but it just turned out he got better after Boston. Hill probably would have been cheaper that Kluber too, so why didn’t Bloom go that way?
  22. Bingo on signing Kluber.
  23. I wouldn’t have resigned Kike in the first place, and I’ve said all along the $10M could have been put to better use. I agree that a glove first SS should have been a priority after Story came up lame.
  24. You said the same thing last year about the declines of players, and the GM. I guess Bloom just has bad luck. Poor guy. Houck, and Whitlock also belong in the BP where Whitlock definitely pitches better.
  25. Only minor in the fact that Casas struggles hasn’t demonstrated he’s a ML player yet.
