If Masa was coming out this year instead of last year do you think he would have been signed, and would the need be as great this year as last year? Lots of moving parts in the OF now, and I think his contract money could have been spent better elsewhere. All of this he’d be better as the DH just doesn’t seem he was worth the $100M spent.

As I say when he pitches you either get a Sale Day, or A For Sale Day. Today is the latter, and I doubt any buyers.

I’ve been saying Houck, and Whit should have stayed in the pen for 2 years now, but they are cheap options for the rotation along with one of Blooms $10M man, and I think Bloom likes that. -
Let’s remember that Bloom went for JBJ instead. Now that was a terrible decision.

I don’t believe Whit is currently with the team, and on bereavement.

They have to figure out their in house guys first on who’s going where. It wouldn’t surprise me to see both Houck, and Whit penciled into the rotation next year with Bello, and Sale, and then Pivetta, and Kut Man.

Amazing that these two teams have only played against each other 6 times with ND last win was 1936. I’d say it’s about time for another one.

Dugy probably won’t return to the lineup until at least Friday, so that should mean some playing time for Abreu, and Rafaela.

Abreu in CF today, and Duvall in RF. Dugy must be still hurting.

Max i wouldn’t call Devers as being perfect at 3B, and i wouldn’t call Casas as being perfect at 1B. Yes he has reach I’ll give him that, but he is far from perfect. Even George Scott wasn’t perfect at 1B, and he was pretty dam good. I’ve seen Casas more than once stretching forward for a throw that went sailing over his head, so i wouldn’t call that so terrific.

Are the Red Sox still paying JBJ? At any rate that is still a head scratcher. Kike the best defensive 2B in all of MLB? GG Duvall was in RF, and not CF.

I’m not playing forum police to limit topics. Blow into the wind all you want. Improving the D would improve the team, but I just don’t see Bloom as thinking that way, and if he did he hasn’t done much about it. Like last year at 1B, and when the Red Sox needed a CF/RF Bloom went out, and got a LF in Pham. A Dugy, Kike, and Gallo OF would have been a good defensive OF, but not much with the bats. So day dream all you want.

And what is Boras going to ask for Chapman? I just don’t see Bloom pulling the trigger on all these moves. It would be way out of his character.

They are not spending anymore money in the short term on a 3B. They just locked one up for 10 years, and they already have a 1B. Like I said earlier all the moves you want to make aren’t going to be done, because 3 players would be better as a DH.

Bloom hasn’t shown yet that he’ll spend money on the rotation, so I’m not sure he will this coming off season either. I’m for bringing JT, and Duvall back, but I think it will take at least a 2 yr contract for both.

There are so many ways this team could go with this up coming off season. Even with the JT, Duvall, and Dugy situations. Like I posted the other day Bloom, and Dugy had a long conversation out on the field after a game the other day. Who knows what that was all about.
