  1. I didn’t even know that was questioned, or even talked about. Come on man!🙈🤭
  2. Do you think you should treat a players Arb years the same as FA years?
  3. You don’t think what a Japanese player does in Japan goes a long way in how MLB teams scout, and Judge players, and then determine what they will offer these players to come to the states? You don’t think with throwing ZERO innings in MLB the 897 innings Yam Man threw in Japan wasn’t what had all those MLB teams lining up to offer him all those big contracts. You don’t think what Masa did in Japan with ZERO AB in MLB didn’t influence Bloom, and his minions so much that they outbid everyone, and shut down the bidding in record time? Come on man!
  4. It’s a dice roll on every pitcher, but once again 897 innings is a lot more to go on then 219, and that’s all I’m saying, and 219 innings to me is not enough on how to judge how good a pitcher is going to be. I get everything you’re saying, and why, and I’m not even saying you are wrong. How you want to judge something, and how I judge something are two different ways, which lead to different opinions, and I’m not even claiming I’m right. It’s just a different opinion, which I’m not going to change, and, you’re not going to change, and that’s where I’m going to leave it
  5. Of course not what a pitcher does in college, or the minors, but definitely yes what one does in Japan. Do you really think the Yam Man would have gotten what he did for a contract if his 897 innings he pitched wasn’t counted??? Arb years, and FA has NOTHING to do with it with me. Lack of much of a resume does. I guess I’m not as star struck as you, and others are either with the Cro Man, or the suspects you claim was giving up the world.
  6. But there NO one with only 219 innings pitched, and only 136 as a starter, which has been the MAIN point all along. Yam Man had 897 innings under his belt, which is a lot more innings to get judged by.
  7. FACT is there was no one with that so few amount of innings under his belt.
  8. You don’t have to do any WAR. All you have to see is 35 starts, and 175-200 innings, and the rest will thr care of itself.🙈
  9. Been lots of what if questions on here if he was one. Really!🤫
  10. And Crochet isn’t a FA, and wouldn’t be one for the next two seasons.
  11. You are really going to compare the Yam Man, and Cro Man’s resume at age 25?🙈🤭. Yam Man had already thrown 897 innings compared to 219 for Crochet. Yes it was in another country, but that’s not even close to an = comparison. If, if, if on Crochet. Everyone is very well aware of that. I’m all for offering Crochet an extension, but just not as high as your suggestion of starting him out with $20M+ the next two years.
  12. I don’t think it has anything to do with being an old schooler at all. I’ve asked for comps, and I’ve been told there is no comp, and there is a reason for that No pitcher that I know of has been paid $20M a year, and given a 6 figure contract after only pitching 219 career innings, and only 146 as a starter. It doesn’t matter his age, his years of service, his arbitration, or FA status. No doubt he has good stuff, and potential' but some on here are trying to to make him out to be better than he is at this point in his career. He may get there, and then again he might not. I get it that the RED Sox traded some precious highly rated suspects For him, and everyone wants him to tun out to be one of a kind.
  13. What’s not easy to predict is what the Red Sox will offer.
  14. Brez was in an extending mood. He tried to get Casas to extend too.
  15. What would Duran get if he was a FA? What would Houck get if he was a FA? What would Casas get if he was a FA. What will Pivetta get, because he IS a FA?
  16. I never said it did, so once again I’ll point out the FACT that he is NOT a FA, and won’t be until 2027. Why do you keep bringing up FA when Cro Man is NOT a FA. I don’t care what Cro Man would get as a FA, because he is NOT one. All I care about right now is 2025.
  17. $3.8M is what Cro Man is worth this year. How is that Mumbo jumbo?
  18. I can’t answer, because he’s not a FA. Who say’s he worth $20M now? Time' and process says NO.I don’t have any problem offering $20M in 2027. I have a problem offering him $20M in 2025, or 2026. I get all you’re saying, but where we differ is I want to see more innings under his belt, before I start offering him the big bucks. Same with Houck, or more AB from Duran to do it again this year.
  19. What he would get as a FA two years from now would depend on what he would do the next two years. He’s not a FA right now, so it’s really irrelevant. Be happy the Red Sox won a bidding war with other teams. They just did it with suspects instead of with money. Most likely others wouldn’t give up what the Red Sox did.
  20. I get all that but,the FACT is Skubal, and Cro Man are not FA. Time, and process, time, and process.
  21. It doesn’t matter why he has a limited IP sample size. That doesn’t change the fact that he does. You’re basing that he’s that good after 1 yr, and 146 innings as a starter, and I’m not. That’s the difference. I know you want him to be that good, and I do too, but to me he has to show he can go 35 starts, and 175+ innings as a,starter, and do it again. Houck had a good year last year, and I want to see him do it again, before I offer him a big long term contract. Same with Duran. Good year last year, but can he do it again? That’s why these guys are where they’re at contract wise, because of Arbitration. Skubal is only getting $10M this year after winning the Cy Young.. Time, and process.
  22. #1 I don’t see the Red Sox signing, or trading for a 3B this year without getting rid of Casas, or Yoshida, so I certainly don’t think there is any big brain storming going on to do that, and in return playing Yoshida in LF. I just don’t see it.
  23. Injury concern is always there for a pitcher. The lack of innings pitched is just a big factor to me in offering him a long term big money contract especially paying him $20M+ for this year as some have suggested on here.
