    I can’t speak to that, but I knew at a early age that the Yankees were the enemy, and that is why I started cheering for the Dodgers in 1963, because they were playing the Yankees in the WS.

    Foy, Reggie Smith, and Boomer Scott were there in 67, so that was a good start.

    Sasaki is a whole different deal though as he was signed as an amateur international FA.

    I know Fenway was pretty empty during the early 60’s, and you could get a seat pretty much wherever you wanted too. 1967 definitely changed all that. Of course the Red Sox were a pretty bad team in those early 1960’s too.

    Oh no JH disease! Even tons of injuries couldn’t stop them last year. It’ll be even scarier this year if they don’t have all those injuries.

    The NY Post says. The Dodgers getting Roki with an already stacked lineup is bad for baseball . Now that’s Sour grapes.🤫

    .My bad. I should have said Bowden had spoken to several GM, and Assistant GM who believes that’s what had happened. No sour grapes at all for me. I’ve liked the Dodgers since the early 60’s. I LOVE IT. Wine, and roses for me.👍👍👍

    True that Hendricks WAS an effective closer, but that was back in 2021-2022. He pretty much hasn’t pitched since then, will turn 36, and coming off an arm injury. Who knows what he has left, and what you’ll get out of him. Fulmer is coming off an arm injury, and so is Whit, so that’s my biggest concern.

    It would except for the FACT there are many options for the OF to keep Yoshida from playing out there compared to Franchy playing 1B as the RED Sox didn’t see any other option at the time. Arroyo tried, but got hurt the first time he tried to stretch. I thinks there is a snow ball’s chance in hell that Yoshida is part of any OF platoon.🙈🤭

    Agree on both. Just like with Bello. I don’t think they signed him to that contract to be the so called 5th, or 6th starter as I’ve heard suggested on here.

    Agree, and I just think a contract a team signs a player to gives you an idea of what the plans are for that player, and that is why I said I don’t think the plans are for the RAF Man was to. be a platoon player. Of course circumstances could change that plan.

    Up to this point I don’t think the Red Sox are as concerned about what everyone knows that the D isn’t good to do anything about it. In fact with the likes of Franchy Strangeglove at 1B, Arroyo in RF, and Kike staying at SS a lot longer than he should have it looks like the opposite of trying to fix the D. When is the last time the Red Sox had a good veteran glove man ready as a backup for the IF?

    Jim Bowden is reporting Roki already had a pre-cut deal with the Dodgers before the dog, and pony show started with other teams.🤫

    That’s because I don’t think there is ANY plan by Cora to do a platoon in LF of Yoshida/Ref Man. Nor do I think the Red Sox signed the RAF Man to the contract they did to be a platoon player either. Neither would Duran play CF over Raf Man.🙈🤭

    Fuller, Hendricks, and Whit all coming off injuries makes it more than unknown what you will get from any of them, so counting on them to be their former selves does not sound like a good plan to me. Unless, or if a closer, and 8th inning guy is established Jansen, and Martin may be a bigger loss than some think. Quantity does not always mean quality.

    Things must be looking up compared to last year at this time. Last year all off season the town crier was running from town to town shouting, sham, sham, sham. Lot quieter this year.🤫

    I’m not arguing at all that Japanese baseball compares to MLB. I’m just saying what he did in Japan counts. If it didn’t there would be Nothing to go on. If Yam Man didn’t have the stats as good that he did in Japan do think he would have. gotten as big a payday? Same with Masa.

    I’ve NEVER said MLB innings shouldn’t count more than the innings in Japan. My main point all along has been Cro Man doesn’t have a big enough resume to ME to warrant the contract at this STAGE as you think he should get. That’s all. Nothing more, or nothing less. Just like I told Moon I’m not saying I’m right, and you’re wrong. We just DISAGREE. You’ve already called me a cheapskate, and I’ll wear that hat proudly. By the way Cro Man has only pitched a total of 363 innings going back to his college days.

    Yes the Yam Man was special, because of his age, and also because of what he had done in those 897 innings in Japanese baseball. You don’t think what he did in those 897 innings along with his age was why teams were lining up with their checkbooks? What did the Red Sox go on when they signed Masa? Dice K?
