Well, considering he only arrived in the fall of 2019 and there was not a 2020 minor league season and we are now only a little over a month into 2022, that's not exactly what I would call a lengthy track record.
If the sox were inclined to lay out the type of money it may take to secure Judge's services, why wouldn't they have spent it on mookie? Or just spend it on xbo?
The difference is that one team has the best record in baseball while the other is in last place.
Should the Yankees continue to be in a playoff position it is highly unlikely that they would be sellers at the deadline and jettison Judge.
Should the sox continue to flounder in the vicinity of baltimore in the standings, they certainly would be likely sellers at the deadline. That would/could be disheartening to the rest of the team.....
Because even though the sox are pretty bad with guys like devers and xbo, they will almost certainly be worse without them. I don't know many people that enjoy being part of a s***** team that is resigned to playing out the string.
Well, maybe it's that those guys are performing for their expected big paydays while the others are disheartened thinking those guys are gone and they have to play out the string.....
I don't think they finish in last place either. As bad as they are, I just can't see them being worse than the orioles.
But if they finish under .500, I think the possibility of chaim getting fired does exist.
