  1. It might not be that bad, whitlock is pretty good.
  2. The way the sox are playing that may require copious amounts of alcohol!
  3. As the great coach Bill Parcells once said, "You are what your record says you are"
  4. It's not like the sox are currently a juggernaut. Right now they have more in common with the tigers and the nats than they do the twinkies.
  5. The sox are running into a red hot astros team. From mlb.com - The Astros (23-12) finally saw their 11-game winning streak snapped on Saturday in a 13-6 loss to the Nationals, but Houston responded with an 8-0 victory on Sunday. Not only are the Astros 12-1 since starting the season 11-11, but they have not allowed more than three runs in any of those 12 victories -- and half of them have been shutouts. Houston's starting rotation has a 3.05 ERA (fifth in MLB), while the bullpen's 2.69 ERA ranks second among all clubs.

  7. Nah, he couldn't mention melancon, it doesn't fit his cherry picking.
  8. And I didn't advocate that then nor am I suggesting that he could be a DH in the future. He's one of those guys that just doesn't seem to be cut out for NY, Whitson among others comes to mind.
  9. Well, he'd actually need to hit to be a DH, no?
  10. He got that feeling when they spent the offseason together.......
  11. I know plenty of places in SoFL that won't serve you without shoes and a shirt.
  12. It's a tough spot for teams nowadays. Many teams have big money TV contracts and are flush with cash and therefore the price of free agents has risen. This causes bidding wars where the going rate doesn't always mean it's a good deal in the end. But if you're not willing to play in that sandbox, you will then miss out on a huge chunk of the top talent available.
  13. Not trolling at all. To my knowledge, there weren't any mask laws passed. If there were I would simply like to know about them.
  14. So pivetta threw 125 innings over his last 3 starts? I didn't realize they all went into extra innings, must be a record!
  15. You love to cherry pick. Nasty Nestor's career ERA+ stands at 103. Which is much better than 84 last I checked. And Nestor has seemingly figured it out in his age 26 season, while pivetta still hasn't in his age 29 season.
  16. Career ERA+ of 84........
  17. Did he cryogenically freeze the muscles and ligaments in his throwing arm?
  18. Understood, and you would probably be available on a 1yr/$500K deal. That doesn't mean I want you on my pitching staff.
  19. No, I picked his entire career, while you have cherry picked what suits your need.
  20. bogey will get paid, but chances are it will be by someone other than the sox......
  21. They certainly do, but this rotation has plenty of question marks ahead of the 5th starter.
  22. Take time? He's 29 yrs old and will be 30 on Opening Day. And you can cherry pick whatever 3 game stretch you want if it makes you feel better. This is a team that needs front end starters, not another "pretty damn good for a 5th starter"
