  1. Great opportunity for Chris Sale to get TJ surgery.
  2. I'm sure this is something the MLB is seriously looking at right now especially that NBA has announced it suspending the remainder of it's season. Some world tournaments has also been cancelled over the Covid-19 pandemic. The protection of the players and people has to be their top priority expect an announcement soon.
  3. Red Sox signs Kevin Pillar on 1 year deal worth 4.25 mil.
  4. Don't talk so foolish why in the heck wouldn't Mookie want the most that he can get. It was up to the Red Sox to make Betts stay in Boston. Mookie is ranked the 2nd best player in the MLB for 2019 behind Mike Trout and he deserved to be paid like the superstar that he is. The Red Sox blew this deal big time with this trade. Xander isn't anywhere near the caliber of player Betts is right now Bogaerts is ranked 46th that 44 spots behind Mookie. Well Bloom and Dombrowski will have something in common both traded HOF players away Bombrowski with Expos Randy Johnson to Seattle for Langston, Bloom with the Red Sox Mookie Betts for Verdugo, Down and Wong.
  5. Who created the problem the OWNERS if they wouldn't offer such luxurious contract none of this would be happening but the greed of owning the best elite players for their team. Can't blame the player if someone is foolish enough offer the contract they be stupid not to take it the owner themselves said it's business. You don't go hiring a Dollar Store GM to run a Loro Piana Fenway Park has the highest ticket prices I guess they can't afford keep their elite players instead they rather pay under achievers. Teams rebuild around their superstar.
  6. This has to be one of the stupidest move made by the Red Sox. Mookie Betts was the best player on the team one would think they would've concentrated their efforts in trying to extend Betts but they chose to extend Sale and Bogaerts instead knowing and openly stating they could only afford 2 contract extension. The one who believe that Mookie Betts will return next year dream on that what everyone was saying about John Lester and we all know how that ended up. Once that trust and bond has been broken between player and an organization over one's value is a threshold once crossed is seldom reconnected again. This also an opportunity for Mookie to experience baseball outside of Boston which will be different I'm sure the fans will like him and cheer him as well as that he was liked in Boston. The Dodgers might make it their priority to extend Betts unlike the Red Sox and if not he'll have plenty of takers I'm sure. One has to believe that the LA organization didn't take on the extra baggage for a single season of Betts and be stuck with Price.
  7. Come to think of it sounds pretty ludicrous that the Red Sox's best player for the last couple of years by far is the one who's most likely to be gone by spring training. Then again the Red Sox sold Babe Ruth the best baseball player of that era I think this will be as a big mistake as the previous one.
  8. The Red Sox aren't so innocence in the sign stealing fiasco in 2017 they were caught using IWatch in the dugout with John Farrell they got fined. In 2018 they're accused of using their video room which is just steps from their dugout to steal sign and relay them back to their men on base which informed the hitter on the pitch selection. If the investigation prove the alleged accusations are true that would make the Red Sox repeat offenders of using electronic equipment to steal signs and one would have to believe that they would receive one of hardest punishment ever implemented for doing so more than the Astros.
  9. Alex Cora assistant manager Houston Astros 2017 Jose Altuve batting champion 2017 Jose Altuve AL MVP 2017 Cora design and implement sign stealing system using video room during home games. Alex Cora hired as Red Sox manager 2018 Mookie Betts batting champion 2018 Mookie Betts AL MVP 2018 Red Sox fires Cora pending MLB sign stealing allegation investigation.
  10. This was to be expected anyone would though otherwise was greatly mistaken basically the Astros didn't leave much choice in the matter once they announced the dismissal of both the GM and manger Cora fate was sealed. The Red Sox had no other choice unless they wanted to be the promoters of cheating to win is acceptable. Since Cora was identified as the culprit designer and implementer of the cheat sign stealing system using the video room back in Houston in their WS Championship win. What else could be expected from him when he became skipper of the Red Sox same cheat system same results MLB had to follow the trail and Cora being the common denominator in both franchises. The game should be played on the field like it was meant to be never mind using all these electronic devices. Sure other teams are guilty of doing the same but none had the success of these 2 teams with the same guy in the center of the cheating accusations. The sad part of the whole thing is that even though JBJ knew exactly what they were going to throw he still couldn't hit the dam ball.
  11. The MLBPA has filed a grievance against the New York Yankees for their decision on the contract dispute with Ellsbury. According to MLBPA the Yankees owes Ellsbury 26 mil for the 2020 season that's 21 mil in salary and a 5 mil dollar buyout. The Yankees claims that Ellsbury used a non approved doctor for his treatment and rehab but the MLBPA and the doctor said he didn't treat Ellsbury for any on field injuries or any rehab. Apparently Dr Viktor Bouquette is inflammation specialist who treat and control inflammation he also said he's got documentation that the Yankees were well aware of him treating Ellsbury for inflammation because they sent him a list of ban substances by MLB that he couldn't give to Jacoby. Scott Boras Ellsbury's agent and Gerrit Cole's agent is saying that the Yankees are trying to get a break on their luxury tax as Ellsbury 26 mil salary and buyout would go against their payroll with Cole's contract that would put them as one of highest payroll in the MLB. Ellsbury claims he going to play baseball again someone who's willing to gamble will get him at league minimum.
  12. Let's not kid ourselves the Yankees have a damn good team nobody lost more man games than they did and they still managed one of the best record in baseball. Some of the players lost were their key guys but their depth proved to be excellent given the circumstances. Boone deserve some credit also juggling his roster will all the injuries wouldn't be easy for any manager. I feel bad for some of the guys that will be probably left off the playoff roster because they're the ones who carried the team through all the injuries. I like watching October baseball no matter who's in it as long they're good competitive games I'm fine with that and let the best team win.
  13. ******** his win lost record for the postseason is 1-3 with .250% not exactly an ace you can count on going in the playoffs. There's many were others that has a win against the Yankees and they weren't paid 21.5 mil/year.
  14. Owners has been throwing out millions of dollars for highly regarded Free Agents so there's nobody to blame but themselves they've created the mess and now they try to blame the player. I don't blame Mookie one bit get the most you can get to play the game it won't last forever there will always be fans everywhere you play and if you're good and lucky enough to make in HOF you'll be remembered as one of the great player by all the baseball world. Mookie has his mind made up with his own market value set so it look like he ready to test the free agent market I don't think he'll be willing to sign without checking out what is out there first.
  15. No friggin way that I want him back when he was need the most he imploded even in 2016 his best years come playoff time his era 10.38. He noting more than an inning eater who has struggled at the best of time a 4th or back end rotation type pitcher who got overpaid by the Red Sox. You've overstayed your welcome Porcello time to get the F@#K OUT HERE.
  16. Don't worry the boys will have plenty of rest after Sept 29 it's not like the Red Sox has the luxury of dropping any games if they were planning to try and make it to the postseason.. Personally I think the Red Sox have already scrapped this season along with plenty of uncertainty in the front office. Is this a repeat of the 2011 melt down minus the beer and chicken.
  17. No it's much the same not using his best available pitcher in a crucial game situation tied in the 11th with one of the most feared hitter at the plate in Encarnacion with 2 runners on BOOM goes the season. Cora chose to not play one of his best players in Bogaerts and the Red Sox lost by one run nobody will ever know if that decision would've changed the outcome of the game. I know the chances of winning the games surely increases with Bogaerts in the line up versus not being in it.
  18. Showalter not using Zack Britton.
  19. Porcello never won a Cy Young either it was given to him by the controversial decision of 2 idiotic Tampa Bay sport writers. Explain to me how the most received first place vote pitcher get omitted entirely off 2 ballots. Come on that's is so ludicrous it's beyond imaginable for any type of baseball intellectuals with such deluded perspective of the award meaning. I get it if they didn't think Verlander was their no 1 pick but not worthy of 5th spot it was so ridiculous all of baseball started talking about it. One of the Tampa Bay writers felt so ashamed of how stupid it made him look he openly offered his explanation why Verlander wasn't on his ballot he claimed he sent his ballot 2 weeks early during that time Porcello imploded and Verlander excelled to the point of that he only allowed 1 run in 14.25 innings. He claims that if he waited he would've had Verlander near the top of his ballot. Corey Kluber said it best and he was in the running for the Cy Young award it's not that Porcello wasn't deserving of the award it's just that Verlander deserved it MORE.
  20. The trade was orchestrated by Hoyer and Lajoie Cherington was oppose to the trade because it involved his beloved Hanley Ramirez but he was out voted by the rest of the group. He liked Ramirez so much he brought him back to the Red Sox to play left field.
  21. Just look at Porcello record other than a inning eater he was nothing if they're not quality inning it's garbage He's nothing more than a J A Happ type pitcher who also flirted with some seasons close to 200 IP. Doesn't matter how many s*** inning a guy pitches they are still s*** innings with an elevated ERA.
  22. Kind of late for that don't you think! It's like closing the barn door after the horse has gone out.
  23. Theo Epstein greatest move and probably in all of baseball was when he signed David Ortiz to a one year non guaranteed deal when the Twins released him and the rest is history. Theo made mistakes he's like everyone else nobody is perfect but overall he still the best GM that the Red Sox ever had he could draft and recognize talent, he did some good trades like Beckett, Lowell and Schilling, he understood analytics and what it took to win. Hired good people who knew baseball like Terry Francona and Joe Maddon. Overall he the best we've seen on the Red Sox front office nobody will come close to his record in the modern era of baseball
  24. Magic number down to 9 with 9.0 GB for the final spot in the post season and being beaten by one of the worst team in the MLB with a line up of rookies should tell you a lot on how this season is pretty much over. Other than showing up for the remaining games heck even Cora knows this he didn't even bother to play Bogaerts one of the Red Sox best player this year and where every single games is so detrimental to the race.
