  1. Key Largo also where I lived for 10 great years
  2. If I told you that Betts and Beni each had 2 hits, plus a walk, would you think the Sox were being shutout. Bogie is in charge of that stat. See what he does against the relief pitcher. If they score 3 and lose 5-3, DFA Thornburg Bogie now 2K's plus a DP, way to go Aruba
  3. Yeah, Thornburg is the answer in the pen
  4. Dammit, warning track power or we would be winning
  5. Johnson delivered what he contracted for ; 5 innings of 2 run baseball, probably can start the 6th and get outs or get pulled. The hitters have now gone 14 innings and delivered 1 run, 13 innings ago. This is not a joke. And the 2 runs weere unearned due to the Devers special error package delivered nightly. Oh and Rafi's 2 K's as well
  6. Never trust anyone from Aruba
  7. Here is his chance to warrant your faith in him
  8. I signed into MLB broadcast via the redsox.com scoreboard and could select NESN with OB and Remy on the call.
  9. And last night. They are playing down to the competition, not playing their own game.
  10. Maybe he needed a couple rehab games instead of going to the DR baseball Academy hanging out with homies. I agree , he makes it hard to root for him.
  11. You really don't want to waste that game picked up on NYY last night in a 1-0 bad game, especially with a Yankee win today. Time for these guys to wake up the bats.
  12. Johnson is doing what Johnson can do. Put the ball out there and hope someone can catch it. But maybe with 2 outs he could pitch a little tougher
  13. HP umpire going with the wide zone again
  14. So good to see JBJr rolling over on the outside pitch again. For awhile I thought he had lost his stroke
  15. Devers showing the rust of 10 days off. Guy loves to be all over the scoresheet with his name
  16. The 3 B's make three outs on 8 pitches, and looked bad doing it.
  17. So JDM may be a little sore today from hitting the wall while catching the ball?
  18. Everyone is fully entitled to their opinions on Cherington and his predecessors and now successor. He was a relatively young guy in a tough sports city with involved ownership. My question is why does anyone actually care what his future opportunities may be ? They won't be in Boston, so why care ?
  19. Haven't seen any real update on the depth of Holt's contusion, but as others said, probably a week or so assuming no structural damage or laceration. Nunez has played extensively all year mostly at full speed for him and that rundown was another shot at his legs, but he did get the out. Swihart is limited to the bench as Leon's Backup. Lin is a backup's backup. Among Pearce, Bradley, Martinez and Moreland , one has to be sitting in a given game, and it won't likely be JDM. This is a "short" bench with 2 of the guys being AAAA'ers. My point is that DD and Cora need to take a hard look at the 13 pitchers, including the PawSox fill-ins and get down to 12 and put another functional player on the bench. Brandon Phillips will likely get this chance soon. Nunez and Holt should have been the ones to provide veteran utility presence playing 2 or 3 times a week but have become full time infielders due to Pedroia's lingering problems. Still the team is set for it's 70th win, with no other team beyond 65.
  20. That is an incredible number before 100 games are played. For all the consternation these guys bring , the record so far is amazing. I know about the 14+ game lead in 1978, watched that ball disapear into the net after crushing BF Dent's foot, but a 5.5 game lead right now feels pretty good. Every game won is one less that anyone can catch you with.
  21. We got the win, Mets got the one run, so here it goes, bottom of the 9th
  22. Much agreed, that was a slow boat down the Great Lakes
  23. A 1-0 win that takes over 3:30 to complete
  24. Because Kimbrel does not pitch to much contact, his pitch counts are often high which may limit him from pitching in the subsequent game
  25. Mets have man at 3rd with one out. They'll need more
