  1. In case some of the game thread regulars don't look at the other forum topics much, it is amazing to see how deep in the weeds some of the brighter bulbs on this site are stuck dissecting the season. What was fairly obvious earlier has finally become harsh reality so the comments become more and more esoteric.
  2. Some of you take this stuff a bit too seriously. Our mutually enjoyed pro baseball team has essentially let us down in a big way this year after beating the world in 2018. If you can't laugh at it for what it is, consider a new hobby
  3. I didn't say by a Yankee. You are in a s***** mood as are the Red Sox and I'm playing you just for the fun of it. It's not cheating, It's needling
  4. Moon, I will take your bet that the Red Sox will not win the WS again by end of playoffs 2024. In fact, I'll pay your proposition if they just make the WS much less win. How about 2 seats on the Monster in a Yankee game. I always wanted a souvenir HR ball.
  5. That's a sad comment from a smart man. The opportunity to cheat was there for all the losing suckers who are still wondering what happened to them.
  6. Choke on this Sox fans:The Red Sox--Bambino curse began in 1919 after winning the Ws in 1918. From 1901 to 1918 the Sox won 5 WS. From 2001 (or '04 to be technical) the Sox won 4, eerily similar. Get ready because the reset will cover the next 86 years, mostly because of Beni and JBJr
  7. There are a few players & pitchers on this team that Cora still can't believe cannot duplicate last year's magic. Reversion to the mean, Alex. it has bitten you badly this year
  8. I wonder if about 82 other professional teams, including the Sox, look at the Patriots and wonder why they cannot do something similar. Year after year for two decades they are competitive if not champions
  9. Thankfully, Porcello eliminates himself in 22-21-20-19...…...
  10. Not soon enough. Brasier will nopt be on this team next year/ Others may for better or worse.
  11. Dalbec is with the team but not activated. Giving him a no pressure/no clock look at about 20 more MLB games. Work him out, get him a Fenway Frank and the kid is happy until next Feb.
  12. So right, that was the real error
  13. Think Beni was a little overmatched ? No, he's just a little player, Mr Popup
  14. Nice stat padding, JD. Might have been useful if you could play RF
  15. Anyone notice a difference in the mature Yankee relievers and the tryouts the Sox are conducting ? And a few of those Yankees were available to all. As were Nelson Cruz and EE
  16. Something like your scenarios will happen this winter. If they pay JBJr $9 or $10M, shame on them
  17. Heading for 3-52 when trailing after 6 . That is a stupefying stat, exceeded only by a losing record at Fenway for the reigning WS champs
  18. A lot of people won't agree but Holt's son cost us the WC
  19. With Yanks up 4-0 Boone relieves the hittable Kahnle quickly. What does he have to worry about?
  20. When do you want that "breakout" to happen. Anytime in the next decade would be useful.
  21. Agreed. Once Sale "retired", Leon became superfluous and AC wanted to ride Vaz's bat. Now he's run that into the dirt. Where's the rest strategy ?
  22. It may be more that JBJr is much less than a .230 hitter vs Lh'ers, especially breaking ball guys like Happ. Don't have the number but maybe .150+-
  23. Kahnle can be beat, Get to him quick
  24. There should be an off season post grad course in 2 strike, 2 out pitching
  25. good advice. That will make it worthwhile
