  1. Even with Erods 2 out, 2 strike oppo field HR allowed by a LH hitter, this game remained winnable, and technically with 5 outs to score 3 runs to tie, it still is. Sitting your best hitters for a rest day followed by a day off is a concession that wasn't needed. They should have made it a Bullpen game if they were sure to lose to Wheeler. It isn't quite over, although it feels that way
  2. World of difference in Erod's pitches when he finishes his move home and when he just slings it high or wide. Nice 4 innings today , assace
  3. Other than the fact Sawamura may not yet be ready to pitch, this should be Erod's last batter today, especially if he doesn't get him out
  4. While a comeback today would be a rare treat, i'll still take the results to date , especially after the opening series debacle with the O's. April and May have been a most welcome outcome. Now finish the month in first , and get the participation trophy
  5. This would have been a big one to win, get to 30 wins before end of May, beat a top pitcher, sweep another NL team, and go into the day off on a roll, especially while sitting Verdugo, Bogaerts and Martinez. Right now they look asleep at the bat , and Erod's always one pitch away from more blow up. Another case where the Red Sox starter doesn't seem fully prepared for the first inning
  6. 10 pitches to nail the LH hitting pitcher. Superlative day
  7. Maybe the Covid episode left Erod with residual brain, heart and arm damage. maybe he has lost his mojo.
  8. Now Cora may need to bring back JDM and Bogie , as least as PH's . Bench burnout game.
  9. Nice tight 34 pitches , dig a 4 run hole , set the bullpen up for extra work. A quality non-starter
  10. Erod would have been better off staying in the hotel. Can't pitch with 2 strikes to a LH hitter
  11. Hit batter on a 2 strike count, leads to a run. Thank the shift once again
  12. Nice Brice , what's your price for departing the vicinity of Fenway for good.
  13. Definitely trending back towards the .500 team The Sox were on paper. Ottovino needs to wake up .
  14. Useless AB by Kike. That foul pop was caught, ruled a drop and then got rung up without advancing the runner on second
  15. Franchy, now 1 for last 32. BA over that stretch, .031 . Looks like a great relievers ERA. If you called yourself French's , we could spread you on a hot dog,
  16. Final 4 hitters for Sox are led by Plawecki, who just insured he would stay just over .200. The other 3 , Gonzalez, Renfro, Cordero are looking up at the Mendoza line.
  17. At best Richards is a high pitch count grinder, without much command/control
  18. GR had a chance at a good inning but manages to do a miniblowup by going 3-2 then wild pitching. Needs a DP noe, and on an early pitch
  19. Kike gets the leadoff spot out of the way quickly
  20. All in all, an amazing April especially with the 0-3 bomb start vs the Orioles. First place, while the NYY'ers struggle. Try to remember April in the dog days of August
  21. Not sure why all the complaints about Cordero and Renfroe. They are hitting about .350.....combined
  22. With 60 pitches through 3 , Eo is on track for only 5
  23. I give Barnes credit, an efficient close out and a win. That insures an above .500 finish to April, maybe hold on to first place through this week.
  24. I give Barnes an over/under of 23 pitches to get 3 outs in the 9th
  25. Who has 6 outs in their arm(s) today to get the win for Erod?? Who will relax with O and Barnes waiting out there?
