    Thanks for Part 2. 51 to go, (#51 already started well), which means the 5 primary starters. barring injury or severe fatigue , need to make 10 more starts each, 50 to 60 IPs. Then you need 14 playoff wins. The balance of the season will make or break on the starters and BPSandoval and Bello will be keys. Crochet is virtually no factor now Regarding the hitters, all I know is that they showed the difficulties posed by an extended team wide slump, with few exceptions, Followed by 6 weeks of power and small ball , run scoring. Not sure what to expect.

    So thankful to see these dudes lighting the rockets red glare right out of the box. Doubles does not describe how Durby any more. New nickname is Grannie Durban. Duran cranks one towards the Ted's red seat in RF. Is everyone clear you cannot spell Duran without the letters in Durban ?

    Or you could say, Roman is out on a lot of people, mainly his teammates. But if you go to the Hooters in Ft. Myers about 11PM closing time, you may find Anthony closing the deal.

    He will be 34 by end of September. Mookie, welcome to the other side of the hill. It starts slowly but gathers momentum suddenly, usually led by an injury

    The Sox do have a few AAAA'ers who are essentially blocked in their careers , Eaton being one, maybe Sogard too. There are only 3 seats on a bench available, plus a #2 catcher. The Sox could fill those 3 seats( OF'r/1B, IF, PH/PR) 4 times over just from the 40 .

    Can't wait for Part II as we see how the Sox hold up over the final 51, starting post TDL at 9 over .500 , 4 up in the WC. To me, the season rests on the ability to continue with the current crew holding pace ( not 25-4, but maybe 15-10 in August) until at least one of the IL players ( Anthony, Mead, IKF, plus Rutschman) return and actually contribute. Counting on Contreras and Rafaela to still hit well, Abreu to pick it back up and Duran to improve would help a lot. Wong just needs to show up every day, anything more is a plus. The pitching is really vulnerable with Bennett and Tolle set to hit 110 IP and 125 IP respectively by end of August. Bello needs to be able to go 3-4 innings 2x per week to fill it out.

    Then i will mention Story. He will be held back until he complains that he is ready , then will be given the 20 day max rehab in Worcester, extending out to mid or late September ,then a decision will be needed which could well include a waiver situation, eating his remaining contract. OR Brez could decide that a veteran presence would help the team in the playoffs, but isn't IKF a qualifier there.??

    White as a speedster is an asset to watch vs Duran over the next few weeks. Duran, White and J.Jones only further clog the outfield dilemma when Anthony returns , which may happen , just like Christmas. Could there still be a waiver move to come involving any of the LF'ers, including our DH ( Yoshida)? One of these guys needs to go to make room for Anthony who may not be so little ?

    I think the real test of this deal is whether Rutschman is capable of playing as of September 1 , and then into the playoffs. Without a soon to be contribution from him, and if there is a shortened 2027, then this is not so great. It leaves an exposure to winning into the playoffs primarily in Wong's hands and legs. Here's hoping he lasts well through August. Connor is likely to be worn out by end of August if Rut isn't ready.

    Pure speculation but that what this site often contains: Breslow traded Mayer for three primary reasons and a couple secondary thoughts. 1. Logjam in the infield , where Mayer would likely have to have been sent back to Worcester when IKF returns The 26 and 40 is crowded with infielders 2. The analysts decided that Mayer had shown enough that he does not have enough upside potential to warrant keeping . His durability factor has always been a question. He did not show a power bat , although the stress reaction ( hairline crack) in the arm may have held him back. 3. A part of the decision to move Marcelo relates to his influence on Anthony. There is enough smoke around the duo's off field time around Boston to speculate that Breslow wanted Mayer out of the picture when Anthony returns. 3.5 There is a need for a LH reliever in the BP Not concerned at this time about him being gone.
