  1. Oliver Ortega , in relief, gets 7 outs on 22 pitches, 17 of which are strikes, only 1 single. Relief pitching at its most effective
  2. 7-8-9 up this inning, so Vaz, Dalbec and Arroyo can help the cause with good ABs
  3. Davis singlehandedly screws up any chance for a Whitlock win,
  4. Just think if Christmas came every month. The likelihood of both occurrences is about equal. But then I'm watching some of the Hurricanes vs. Bruins which is a mismatch 4-1 after 2periods. Apparently Boston has never once in 2022, including tonight held a lead over Carolina, a hockey town if there ever was one
  5. 4 1/3 no hit innings; 4 2/3rds 1 hit-no runs ; 5 innings complete , 2-2 tie due to a jerkoff Hr by Max Stassi. First Angel runs in at least 22+ inn9ings. Cora should have pulled him after the first hit, lol. Now Garrett will need a nice bottom 5 to get back in line for a W Glad to see he now has the chance, as Story bangs for all the Sox RBIs to this point
  6. One out in the 5th. Will Cora let Garrett qualify for the win through 5? Or does the computer say PITCH COUNT !!!!
  7. Just joined into this game, but I see strange things happened when Dalbec and Arroyo took walks instead of flailing away , and then Story delivered. What a difference when the bottom of the lineup participates.
  8. When will Cora and the coaches get Whitlock straightened out? That young man seemingly cruises on his own wavelength. He better study some spray charts.
  9. Sounds like old times ( 2021) with the bottom of the order participating
  10. Great to see Sawamura K Ohtani to preserve the excellent shutout. Very welcome win.
  11. Angels racking up an extended string of no scoring innings. Welcome to Death Valley , boys. You will get beat here
  12. Syndergaard skipped his start Sunday due to illness. Better hope he's not fully recovered. Angels can hit when Trout, Ohtani and Rendon are hot. Trout K'ed 4 times Sunday, lol
  13. If your multi-inning closer (Whitlock) allows a lost lead in the 7th, he gets a blown save, but if the Sox tie it in the 8th and he allows no further runs he gets a hold, and in the 9th the Sox take the lead, and he preserves the win, he gets a save?? What a great guy.
  14. The concern with JBJr now shifts to the story that there will be no where to get rid of his salary burden for this year or next. I guess on a weird day you could find a GM to accept the salary dump , packaged with a prime couple of prospects from the hot MiLB Sox system. Far better Jackie starts one of his hot streaks with the bat and helps the lineup keep moving.
  15. Funny how the Angels still won the game, although their bullpen , including Iglesias, gave 5 runs after 1 out in the 9th. It will be interesting to see how the Angels hit in the Boston dead zone .
  16. Same for Cherington, Tito and John Farrell. Once you are gone, bash away because beating the dead horse gets him into the Derby, right?
  17. Dombrowski may as well be dead for all Red Sox fans care. Maybe Phillies fans too.
  18. Along with many others, I have been trying to rationalize this acquisition since it happened. I am not taking the time to look up Hamilton's nor Binela's advancement in baseball skills , but I hope they are prodigious to justify this mess. Bradley may (or not) get one of his streaks going one warm day in June , but he the fact that he was a known quantity makes it all the harder to figure value here. Renfroe may have had a career season and was passing his expiration date but JBJr came with significant baggage including hitting history, salary and mutual option for 2023. Bloom will need to answer for this one too.
  19. 11 f'ing pitches for Crawford to give up an HR and then a walk. The ball must be wet . Umpires then decide to give the Orioles a chance to secure the win by rainout, maybe
  20. 7 batters for the O's this inning so far, but not a single ground ball
  21. If the O's are smart they will intentionally end the inning now
  22. Pivetta looked good for 4 innings and K'ed a .120 hitter in the 5th. 13 outs is just less than half a game. Eligible for the loss once again, but not the win. Can you see a 2-1 loss and series loss in a 5 inning rainout ?? The humor would be inescapable
  23. Splendid, man on 2nd, nobody out, go ahead and call the outcome !
  24. Orioles trying to outthink the Red Sox. A mismatch ! Bloom outwits them by having Vaz throw to second for the DP
