  1. Dalbec perfect on defense @SS until the second batter
  2. Devers and Turner make a first time rookie look pretty good. Our Dynamic Duo slumping
  3. Great find on the probability chart. We'll get to see Dalbec with 12-14 assists and no errors, plus a DP started . Now , the Rays tend to hit flyballs that go over the wall and Sale does give those up , so maybe not.
  4. The right answer should be 3-4 years after beginning play within the system, not later than age 25 for a debut at the MLB level. Otherwise your chances of being a MLB regular contributor start falling off the cliff of woulda, coulda, shoulda
  5. That final AB (now 0-27) by Kike should go into the HoF for swinging at a pitch high/inside that the rays catcher doesn't come close to handling . Kike then stands there like the numbnut he is, not realizing the ball rolls to the backstop. The catcher still has time to retrieve the ball and throw to 1st to get Hernandez by 10'. A real candidate for worst effort by a $10MM player.
  6. yeah, why play McGuire over Wong ? Is McGuire's defense that bad ? Wong cannot hit at all. Mcguire gets 2 in 2 ABs against the world champion Rays
  7. At least Tapia showing some hustle and smarts as he hits for Arroyo and slides into first to avoid the tag
  8. I would go a step further out on the limb and say the roster construction is the beginning of the problem and then Cora , maybe with some analytic advice, has organized them into a mess of a lineup. The players themselves have responded with no production to speak of from about 6-7 of them.
  9. When you suck, it only gets worse as the nerves become more raw with each cheap run you allow
  10. Ort at the Trop Dome !!! A made for Netflix limited series. The Sox still need to get a minimum of 5 more outs because there are no 10 run rules in MLB baseball
  11. Casas looks like a big leaguer , just doesn't play that way yet. He does have the potential of , oh say, Middlebrooks, Swihart, Lavarnway, Castillo, and others who looked pretty good in a uniform fitting session. Casas will make us all forget those guys
  12. That will be when it's no longer "early"
  13. The King of the Pops chart strikes again !!
  14. Yoshi has trouble hitting anything but bouncers.
  15. That was an issue last year also. We have some 2 out pitchers who cannot get the 3rd. At the end of the 5th, Whitlock had nothing left .
  16. Somehow, without genius Bloom, and without big bucks, TB Rays, once again have a very strong team on a big time roll. Some other team will eventually beat them
  17. Was thinking for a minute that Whitlock was pitching ok, given his first start, getting into the 5th, but the HRs are intolerable
  18. What is obvious to me is that McGuire is a better hitter than Wong, but probably inferior on defense. The O's base stealing seemed to be on the pitchers I think. At least Wong has stopped that to a large degree, or the pitchers introducing variability in pitch delivery timing
  19. If the Sox sub.200 hitters ( all 5) simply never swung at McC, then half of them would walk tonight
  20. Dalbec actually beats a semi-shift ( SS in the hole) with a rocket. Good work
  21. We are sort of forced into seeing too much of Wong AB's because Cora obviously believes the C position is a R-L platoon. I think we have 6 more LH's scheduled vs Red Sox over the next 7 days. Getting to know you , Connor, but do appreciate cutting down the runners
  22. 5 guys in this weak lineup below .200, one of them below .100, a combined 2.500 ( 5 batters) if you prefer OPS. Bloom has more work to do , and it's ok if it is early. It is mathematically possible to leave TB 8 games out after not quite 2 weeks of baseball. It is also possible to win tonight and the next 2 to turn the AL East around. Possible, but unlikely
  23. Whitlock vs LH McClanahan . All you right hand batters get loose and ready to swing. McC is already 2-0 with a 1.50 ERA, like most Rays pitchers. Whitlock will get his season debut after a full rehab from hip surgery.
  24. Allegedly, Sox will face 7 left handed starters in their next 8 games. Rays, Angels , and Twins.
  25. I was sooooo drunk
