  1. That is a trio of low end talent, sometimes successful but not predictable enough to count on in tight situations
  2. Cora sitting in the dugout putting notes on his pad : "Do not invite Sawamura to Ft. Myers next Spring"
  3. Here's an example: Sawamura is tedious, then he sucks at getting outs. His splitter should be called a shi.......
  4. It's only a reflection of the fact that I am so good at what I do for a living that I get frustrated with well compensated professionals who do not know the basics of their jobs.
  5. At best, he might get some incentive bonuses, but otherwise he may see trouble getting a better deal.
  6. Very little to nothing has shown me their ability to get lucky, other than the run in June. I called BS on these guys a long time ago when it was obvious the roster still had big holes in it and Bloom had no solutions in Worcester. then the injuries started to pile up further cementing the demise of the 2022 Red Sox. But people commented I was too negative , so I thought I would throw a bone to them today.
  7. Great to see that JDM may be back with the bat, clearing the left center wall for a HR. The team, however, remains enamored with solo shots
  8. Cora asleep at the switch. The game can still be won but not by leaving Nicky out there any longer.
  9. Pivetta is surely enjoying giving up the shots.
  10. 7 out from WC #3 with 35 to go . Now that is a challenge but with a large number of games (26 incl NYY for 6) with those ahead of us through Oct 5th, this team could come back from the bottom of AL East. Amazingly enough, the Orioles have shown no sign of fading once they shot past the Sox.
  11. Fabulous game all around. DID NOT FALL BEHIND EARLY or at all. Pay attention , hitters. This, plus great pitching by Hill, works. So does 2:23 for game time
  12. Not much time for the details right now, but it was dominated by some famously ignorant ex-ballplayers in management. The Sox themselves could provide multiple examples. I do not agree with nerds calling moves down to the manager pre or during the games. Have those discussions offline in closed meetings.
  13. I know you are catching a lot of garbage in the active Forums from some argumentative followers of Boston baseball, but I for one appreciate the depth of your information and knowledge. Keep it up, Moon. BTW, let Familia float in the Rule 5 wilderness.
  14. I'm not familiar enough with Familia to comment on this weak 2 out effort to mess up Hill's shutout. Once again, when the reliever goes over 20 pitches, his effectiveness goes down quick. Get out of the inning, Jeurys
  15. Did Dugo's DWAR go up on that sunplay in RF ?
  16. Probably a low likelihood of Ryan Brasier coming in for the 8th, maybe hold him for the 9th. I do acknowledge and appreciate that Brasier actually pitched well in 9 of last 12. He just didn't get anywhere last night in what could have been a horrendous blowup. Matt Barnes also needs his day off after 3 good to great sessions. Can he come back for 2023 ? Oh yeah, Matt's under contract for $7.5 million, so we'll be seeing him around, doubt his fluctuations will make him desirable trade bait .
  17. I have seen Paul and the Raiders since they first went on TV shows and concerts in the 60's. The last time was on a Fremont St stage a few years ago in Las Vegas. Put them in the Hall, I agree and fully support their consideration
  18. For all the ravings about Bloom's rebuild of this team, and the pending FA departures , there could be a crowded situation developing for 2023. It may open up some trade options over the winter . Keep in mind that the Sox will need to decide on Pham( $6M salary vs $1.5M release price); Hosmer has his own option to decide on. His sore back isn't helping that, but if he stays with his SD originated contract, he is MLB minimum cost to Boston. ; No one mentions it and it may be a 1:1000 shot, but they could refigure Bogey's contract to add another $5 million/year through '26, ; Thinking of Hosmer , you have the dynamic Cordero/Dalbec twins being chased by Casas Duran is a chip with no fixed future. Jeter Downs is not likely to be a force. Plawecki is done making room for Wong, but is McGuire the go forward #1 catcher ? Or do we chase fan and clubhouse favorite Vazquez, lol ? What about Refsnyder ?? That is more chips to play with than existed in the recent past Then the one person who will dominate all the discussions--Rafael Devers on a long term deal. Who says Bloom's job is easy ??
  19. Kike with a HR, but it wasn't very long . How can you pay him very much for shots like that bleeder ? ( Note: trying some misdirection here) Max and Moon, how much would you pay Kike for a presumed regular CF'er in 2023 , assuming he will want a 2 or 3 year deal?
  20. How can you be impressed with dropping two winnable games for failure to make contact with a pitched ball in critical situations? You probably heard silence because no one else was impressed.
  21. You mean getting out of the clubhouse after a game?
  22. Dugo should be in LF, but Pham is currently in the way. He's too early in his career to be DH'ing. It's for old guys with slow bats
  23. Based on Cora's comments about Duran's work needs with WooSox, recalls would not include Duran. Cora says he needs tro play and that isn't too likely with Kike playing CF. But see what Bloom says. i think you will see 2 pitchers ready for the BP
  24. Glad you are paying attention. I did not see that. Another key addition to the Sox never ending IL.
  25. Hill really messing with the "patient/timewasting" Rays. Rich probably throwing a no-no today
