  1. Walk, HBP, bunt single, sac fly and it is tied up . This is on the hitters
  2. 2 more LOBs . No one with a 2 out hit tonight. Chang has no clue what he's doing up there
  3. The umpire's calls vs the K-zone on screen do not match well. Must be a problem with the K-zone
  4. Vintage Sale, reminds me of 2018 when he corkscrewed Machado to complete the WS in a magical season.
  5. LOB's by the home team , the bane of good pitching by the home team. Sale looks amazingly improved. i'll bet anything his side session went well under Bush's tutelage
  6. The Minn catcher looks a little chunky. Where did they find him ?
  7. Casas gets jobbed on a close pitch that looked inside. He is very selective. The lower 6 guys in the lineup are currently miserable performers , with Duran having a chance to be the brightest bulb in that chandelier. I know it's "EARLY", but in fact over 10% of the season has now been played. Time to get it going.
  8. No thanks to Yoshi that time on his routine soft bouncer to 2nd. He continues his struggle.
  9. Thank you, Sale. A Red Sox starter who does not get his team behind in the 1st. Chris is looking pretty fair in the first
  10. 20 years back from 2001, Manny was 7 years old and Nimmo doesn't exist. Can you sign future children ?
  11. Max, these are the same coaches and evaluators that wouldn't recognize a pitcher if you gave them an autographed picture of Cy Young. I do want Bello to succeed and this year would not be too soon. The wet game with the Angels was not a true indication of anything except that Renfroe can still lose balls over the Monster
  12. Less than 2 seasons even with platooning to take advantage of the L/R thing. I suspect you'll be here for the outcome on the CERA in late 2024
  13. But can this guy Revere play 2nd base or has your wife ever considered a turn at SS ? Looking for a little help here.
  14. That is why i said he would get at least 2 more starts in regular rotation to try and establish his routine and see how he responds. He may get and could earn another 27 starts over the season . Hoping the FO does not need to yoyo him to Worcester before he has a chance to get consistent.
  15. On the field , in the FO and RS MiLB systems, Bloom has had since October 2019 to revamp both areas , and deal with JH's CBT directives. That's 4 off seasons including the odd 2020 Covid year. IMO, the results should be showing up on the field this year, a competitive team, not necessarily a championship . Go up and down that roster and point out where the MLB team got significantly better at any position over those 4 years, except for Devers maturing into your one A-S caliber hitter. Rafi was already in the system Check the on field product results in mid May, another 30 games . Then check the growth of Bello, Casas and even Yoshida to see if the trend is improving or wallowing . One thing for certain, Chris Sale needs to improve his side sessions.
  16. So when you read and comprehend Bush's tortured statement, the only conclusion you can draw is that Sale is not doing his sidework right, but if he does start getting the sidework right, Chris will be good. I hate quotes from sports based individuals
  17. Regarding Yoshida, his early and only HR may have messed up his thinking about hitting in MLB. MVP78 pointed out his topping % at 66 and low AEV . Check some prior game threads from last week where it was clearly pointed out that his swing plane (uppercut) was leading to him grounding out to 2nd or 1st very consistently . He, in fact, was topping the ball and pulling to the right side. Pretty obvious to the observer. He needs to make the adjustment to be more of a slasher hitting line drives and hard ground balls. We, Bloom and the team need for him to succeed.
  18. Very much accurate about an organization that going back to the early 2000's has had a number of touted prospects few ( maybe 5-6) of whom succeeded at the MLB level . The training and development staff, including MiLB coaching has generally not done well. The current number of prospects is the best in many years , so let's see if the people under Bloom in the organization can help make MLB players out of them. On the other hand Bloom's FA forays are questionable, unless he is being severely constrict3ed by ownership, which my well be true.
  19. I think the Sox will try to "normalize" Bello by running him out to the mound for at least 2 more starts on regular rotation schedule , getting him on a routine. Picture Cora and Bush sitting him down for a talk and saying, " Listen , Brayan, you are our guy, a Red Sox Way home grown talent and we will keep you up here, at least until Chaim trades you for a couple prospects."
  20. Nice, Refsnyder turns 3-0 into another K Yoshida not of much use either
  21. 3 run walkoff for Devers ? Let's hope
  22. Crawford pitches a 6 1/3rd 1 hit shutout to keep the game close. Bello lost it by the end of 1. The hitters had bad timing and little luck aiming the ball through 8
  23. Turner jumps at a first pitch well above the zone to end the 8th. Winnable game slip sliding away
  24. 3 for his last 21 ABs, but with 6 or 7 walks in that span. 0 for the Angel series though
