  1. Sox will be at home next week. Paxton and wife presumably live in Boston area, unless she went home to Momma. Paxton can take 4 hours out to throw a 2 hitter and get back to the hospital .
  2. Looking forward to July 2024 when Bloom ( or his successor) can trade Sale to a NL wanna be contender looking for quick help. Sox can pay off his salary. Of course, that would require Chris Sale to be physically capable.
  3. Ort was testing his luck the other day and doesn't have it now
  4. Notin, "You don't have to worry about seeing Whitlock no more"----a bad takeoff on Peter Clemenza explaining Paulie's absence. I think Bloom traded him after the HR, lol
  5. Whitlock is another of those 2 outs don't make an inning pitchers
  6. Devers doing his job in Toronto. Maybe he is ready for a big run.
  7. Since there are not many explosive players in this roster, the blow up concept is overrated. Among the current 26 active who might not be here next year Kike, Arroyo, C. Hamilton, Duvall, McGuire, Chang are vulnerable. Among pitchers, Kluber is sure to not be renewed, Paxton and Pivetta could be gone, the latter in a trade scenario. I did not take into consideration players in the minors ( Dalbec) or IL types ( Sale)
  8. And at 42-42, the definition of averageness is achieved .
  9. The series is won on an exciting final play at the plate. Congrats to Dugo . The bats are alive in Canada with Turner and Devers making a formidable middle lineup in this series. A sweep will only work if Garrett Whitlock can equal Bello, Paxton and Crawford's recent gems. The Sox have hit two tough BJ pitchers so far, but saving the best for last, Toronto will run out Kevin Gausman who has a 3.01 ERA and 1.12 Whip. 139 K's in 104 innings does not bode well for guys like Adam Duvall . Caleb Hamilton should appreciate the day off.
  10. Wong also made that play's conclusion the right way . He is getting better all the time too
  11. He may have been a potential winning run but a force at any base is a higher likelihood of being made than picking up a single and throwing out the second runner at home from RF.
  12. Great pick by Dugo and throw home. Jansen cannot pitch in 2 innings and reaffirmed that. The win goes to Turner, Devers and especially Crawford.
  13. However, the patience with casas may be paying some dividends. Maybe he will have a big 2nd half and cement one position for this team.
  14. Duval has become clueless . I'm sure the wrist is bothering him to some degree
  15. Turner is earning his money, he is a second half guy, or at least a 9th inning guy
  16. I think Jansen has trouble with 4 out, 2 inning saves
  17. Getting very tired of Winckowski, his stats are not a reliable indicator of what happens when he goes too long. 2 out walks can mess you up, especially when followed by a HR.
  18. Verdugo helps with a sac fly but doesn't look in charge at the plate.
  19. Caleb Hamilton at 28 years old better enjoy his limited days in MLB, getting the good food money and all because he sure is a lost cause holding a bat in his hands
  20. Devers is a wonderful man when he is hitting effectively, like today
