  1. Paxton begging for a whooping. He may get it shortly
  2. Dugo, do not rollover into a DP !! Thank you
  3. 2 innings of LOBsters will come back to haunt
  4. Paxton at 56 pitches for 2 innings, but about 9 outs worth. He was also awarded a WP on a ball McGuire made a weak effort to block.
  5. Hitting nothing but bullet shots to our weakest fielders. Paxton is quickly giving this back
  6. Paxton does not have it tonight, will be out before the 5th. Yoshida is a hot mess in LF .
  7. If true, it would trend towards a 200 "misplay" season. Or an additional 30 +- innings pitched, more than 3 complete games
  8. Chance to blow Javier and Houston out of this one
  9. f***ing 2 errors in a messed up inning
  10. Javier for Houston at 32 pitches . Good to force Astros to their bullpen early today. Story has no clue whatsoever on the low slider.
  11. Great call by Millar and follow up by Duvall to get another quick lead. Not typical for Sox
  12. I think Turner admitted in an interview that he is "pretty tired" plus his sore heel can't be getting better with him playing the field for 9 innings and running bases as well. I would think he can PH if needed late in the game.
  13. Annual operating costs on the yacht our company has is $22 million with a crew of 33 . It would reach from home plate to the Monster, 311' . Also built by Lurssen . Charters out for $1.2M/week. JH has the cheap economy version sort of like one of his teams.
  14. IMO, the difference this year with Devers and Turner is a matter of consistency. Devers is streaky, Turner seems reliable to have the AB that is needed in the situation. Devers has the mind of a teenager
  15. 7 games with the Astros over the next 10 days, sandwiched around a set with the Dodgers is definitely the toughest stretch this team has seen in a long while. In reality land 5-5 would be an expected outcome. But they need 7-3.
  16. To get to WC #3 , the Red Sox will need to post a .600 win rate against these opponents , and Seattle will have to start losing a few each week. When it is all done October 1 if the Sox miss by 2 or 3 games, it will be easy to find those missed wins over the past 6 months. Finishing with 4 against the Orioles will be interesting because will the O's be positioning their starters for the playoffs, resting some regulars or going all out to get home field or beat the Rays for 1st?
  17. Sox sweep a series vs Yankees; Astros get swept by Mariners . The trend is in our favor, but the reality points to reversion to mean over a large sample. Kudos to MVP78 for beating the NYY'ers 3 straight. Good luck this week !
  18. If Jansen has 3 of the blown saves, how many of the other 7 were by pitchers no longer employed by the Sox ? I'll look for the stats Looks like Winckowski has 4 blown and Martin 1. Ort and Schreiber failed to earn the save in their 1 each opportunities.
  19. It's not a case of payoff , just simple incompetence in front of a large audience .
  20. Pretty good comment and observation. Some of the problem is that the season is getting short and the Sox are more likely to miss the playoffs than make them. each game, each AB, play and pitch reinforces the potential success or failure. You are right, that was a good game to watch, except for Schreiber who is not welcome in any way.
  21. Wasn't LeMahieu with the 2B, he got HBP
  22. Critical play of the game was Wong's scoop and tag (??) to cut off the run in the 8th. I was with others here in seeing the runner's foot get the plate while the tag was a little high. Valentine getting it wrong (??) added to his resume as a bad umpire
  23. Girardi ?? When did they fire Boone----answer not soon enough
  24. Working hard at it
  25. Tough win but essential as BJ's and Mariner's win. BUT more importantly, the Yankees lose their 8th straight and are way underwater.
