Devers makes the no runs in first bet good. He is his own worst enemy with chasing balls way up above zone.
What would be your over/under on Raffy for the full season, assuming no injuries for HR's ( 19) and rbis(61) . I'd say 35/105 with 79 games to complete
Posting this immediately after the Red Sox exceptional win over the Blue Jays in a shutout. Game might be starting too early for us west coasters.
Kutie Kutter Crawford going for Boston ; Yusei Kikuchi serving up sushi for Toronto. Yusei (LH'er)is pretty effective, ( 3.75/1.23 Whip) , as was Barrios before Yoshi and Duran dismantled him.
Get the series win and turn this ship around NOW. But let's see if AC goes to his RH lineup or let's the LH hitters get some practice.
Duran has had some difficulties at times , like a lot of consecutive K's, but he is hitting .796 OPS, with 15 SBs . He has over 225 Pa's so it is not a real small sample. If he could maintain that pace through September, he becomes a keeper
Bello and Paxton should be 40% of next year's rotation. Sale will be back, lol. Houck may be finally feeling ok . Maybe we only need 1 more, plus the usual suspects in reserve in case something happens ( Whitlock, Pivetta, Crawford ,NOT Kluber)
Devers---2nd/3rd ,no outs, infield in and he bounces one direct to 2Bman, hold the runners. Like I said elsewhere he should be leading all MLB with 75-80 rbi's at this point.
Followed by that other dud, Yoshida . If Yoshida had gone elsewhere, would we even know who he was ? But since he came here he has hit better than most all other Sox, no matter what was paid for him.
Paxton kneeds this to be a great effort vs another tough Rh'er Jose Berrios (8-5; 3.60; 1.22 Whip)
The Sox could sweep in Toronto and only be 5th by 2 games. There's that . The odds are not good for a sweep or even a win, but that's why they play the games , not just debate them on line.
