    Another question is why Duvall in CF and Duran in LF ? I would think Duran's speed is best used in CF. I worry about Duran finding the garage door in the sidewall a la Swihart a few years ago

    Yu Chang is back @SS, so there that. Kike to 2B despite some argument that Arroyo is actually a better offensive threat based on the numbers. Yoshi getting a night off.

    Another thought, Cora cannot play/execute the game for his guys . All he can do is motivate them and put them in roles where they believe they will succeed. I don't think many of us have experience trying to get egotistical millionaires who have been praised their entire young lives, who work in the public eye , some less educated and speaking limited English to play the right way, making split second decisions that win games. Managing this group to be net winners , which they currently are, is a very difficult balancing act. When you add the injury list to the mix, the current results are far better than average.

    Yes, those are the obvious reasons and good reasons at that. If not for the expanded playoffs, the Sox season , even with one WC , would be over now before the A-S game, so I am actually in favor of the 3WC concept. It keeps us motivated to Fire Bloom and Cora for all their poor decisions, LOl.(sarcasm). In the longer run, both will be shown to have done good jobs. Bloom may or may not get the benefit of his transformation of the Sox system but if just a few guys succeed as maturing players , including those obtained before his tenure , but developed under his time , he will have been successful.

    Not even considering trades , the roster is about to get a shakeup over the next week , getting past the A-S game with some of the walking wounded returning creating a logjam even on the 40 man roster. Look for the WooSox to get a lot better and the Red Sox to get stronger . Also a couple guys will get their MLB status revised by the DFA route. Names TBD but include Chang , Reyes, Hamilton, Rodriguez, McGuire, Bleier, Alfaro, Schreiber ( late July) but not Sale nor Kluber . Signing Alfaro to a contract for the rest of the year, although cheap, tells me McGuire could be a 60 day IL situation.

    Max, just so you know, Garza is another kid who doesn't have a clue, and Cora is a fool for using him. Bochy would never have done that move, BTW , it's the Rangers not the Astros that the Sox are playing per one of your earlier posts

    " Stands like a statue, becomes part of the machine"...... Too bad his parents didn't name him Tommy. He is in fact very still and stiff looking. The walks are contributing but the failure to sharply hit the strikes is why he is there. Given his other noted oddities, I'm suspecting Triston is a little bit over the line on the OCD spectrum.

    Much agreed , Moon. See Aaron Judge and Trout for how a really big contract can backfire. I would throw in Sale but he's out of sight and mind unless he comes back to pitch the WC 3 game and win

    Note that Bochy never stopped managing his team and working the pitchers even when everything was breaking against him.. There are still 6 outs to get and if one can score 6, so can the other. Not to pick on Cora when we are winning but i think he has laid down in some negative games this year.

    Trouble with rarely hitting HR's, especially at Fenway is that it always takes 2 hits to score one run AFTER a man walks. So now must pick this run up
