  1. Damnable Dom Smith, total crap play.
  2. Wheeler seems to have warmed up. Sox may regret not scoring Hamilton in the first , with man on 3rd 1 out. Crawford going good so far, after Schwarber's center-center bomb
  3. Raffy flashes some glove and arm showing why he is on the roster, not Cooper
  4. Yoshi bounces to out to right side after Devers foul out stranding Hamilton on third. Nothing new. Yoshida's time off didn't change anything about his rolling over
  5. Schwarber jumps Kutter on pitch #1. Get ready boys, the heat is on
  6. Just trying to get a Moon-shot of positivity in before the players show us their relative abilities and inabilities, causing us to coach them as how to do better.
  7. Of concern in this game is how Kutter Crawford will do versus a strong Phillies team. His recent outings have not been great ( 15 ER's in 16.1 innings) . Kutter was an early surprise and strength for the Sox but has lost his mojo recently. He needs to avoid the blow-up inning when he appears to lose command/control and composure Let's hope for a great and effective effort over 6 innings.
  8. Got to put him out there to show his stuff with a couple doubles off the Wall. I swear if he rolls over 3 bouncers to first/second basemen, he will get some yapping from the fans. Have to play him back into MLB shape and confirm he is untradeable.
  9. Fair to middlin'. but their farm system is depleted. The 45-20 record this early in the season is a mirage. Couldn't even beat the Diamondbacks last year in NL championship. DD is on a very short leash
  10. After watching the Red Sox snatch victory from the jaws of defeat in Chicago, I decided to watch a little MLB action. Checked on Yankees-Dodgers and thought it still might be Red Sox with Verdugo, Betts, and Kike playing first string. Kike botched a tough play at 3B but overall this is a whole different level of baseball from what we are seeing. SMH Oh, and a rotation of Criswell, Bello and Crawford vs the Yankees this week will be a study in fan patience and a guaranteed bullpen burning
  11. The ultimate laugh on john Henry et alia is that the Savanna Bananas , with a bit of help from Papelbon, Bill Lee, Mitch Moreland and Johnny Gomes packed the house at Fenway this weekend. Henry's own clowns can't quite get fans to that level of enthusiasm.
  12. Booser with an unusual approach to pitching in a closing situation. he throws first pitch strikes, then 2nd pitch strikes, then K's the bastards. Or induces a weak fly ball, for the game winner. Back to .500 . Chicago starts its next losing streak
  13. Too bad Chris Martin is a head case. He might have covered an inning here today, say the 10th ? No problem, I'm rolling with Cam Booser
  14. Westbrook shows what can happen when you swing the bat instead of trying to parse the pitch. And for those who don't care for Refsnyder, well who else does this team have right now. He, at least, is on the field
  15. I can surmise that Cora wants Kenley to get a good workout because he is unlikely to get any chances this coming week.
  16. Agreed on poor ball/strike calls. Just not right either way. The inconsistency is a killer to hitters. Having said that, swing the bat if you are not an established player
  17. Have to wait until after the game . Don't want to irritate Devers knee.
  18. Dalbec is a sad tale of inability meeting opportunity but not recognizing it.
  19. Running one inning relievers out there for multiple innings just highlights more organizational weakness. Expecting a find like Bernandino to consistently to get you scoreless innings is a case of FO overexpectations.
  20. So the bench is depleted with 3 innings to play , unless Devers can somehow gut it up for an AB, but that would make him play the field too . Cora is screwed if this goes extra innings. If any of the survivors stubs a toe, we will see a pitcher play a position.
  21. If it got to be the 9th inning and Sox were tied or down by one run, would you pinchhit either or both of O'Neill and/or Devers ? A dilemma for Cora because this may be your last chance to win for a week. On the other hand another loss in Chicago won't change the season one way or another. If the injuries, major and minor don't stop, the rest of this year is sunk , providing Ownership/FO with the perfect excuse----It wasn't us, it was your over expectations
  22. 3 straight errors followed by a 3 run jack by about the only WS capable of doing so. Red Sox sucking fumes at this stage. Bullpen games remain bullpen roulette, and they just shot themselves
  23. Given a huge 1-0 lead , Red Sox infield defenders determined to blow it up. Poor plays and poor efforts by Slaten and Hamilton, but what is new ?
  24. The mere fact that Henry made that comment, telling the fans to tone down their expectations tells all about the limitations he put on both Bloom and now Breslow. Bloom was a ditherer but we know Breslow was a competitor . Henry will strangle this franchise for another 20 years . Maybe he will die first
  25. Keep in mind just how bad this Chicago team really is, as shown in their 17-48 record, even when it contains the last 2 wins vs Boston. The pitching is bad and there are few, if any, real threats at bat. You really have to question how many Sox players starting today would be taken by other teams even if Breslow asked for no compensation and offered to pay out their 2024 salary
