  1. Definitely agree with you on this one. I can only guess that the FO is trying to get Yoshi back in gear in the very remote chance they can shop him out of Boston. It really shouldn't be contract related, either he contributes or doesn't, but no sense in locking him in place at the expense of better hitters
  2. Really don't get that response. The comment was pointed at the fact that Devers is currently slumping and tonight extends that fact. You are welcome to be a Raffy fan and that's fine. But to me he is an ugly face of the franchise.
  3. If they go roboump, the will need the computer reading the pitch to have a customized "box" for each hitter, his stance . You are correct that the side to sides are fixed lines. So is it a strike as long as any part of the ball nicks the lines ?
  4. Not to belabor the point, but Mr. Devers is back in mini-slump territory while the rest of the team has been scoring runs .200/.667 over last 7 games. 1 for 12 with 4 K's in last 3 including 2 AB/K's tonight.
  5. Getting real weary of Crawford's pitch location. Most seem to wind up in the bleacher seats.
  6. 2 out walks to #8 and #9 hitters ? Crawford wasting an opportunity to go deep in the game for a win. Only gets out of a bases loaded jam on a gift from the umpire to ring up Dela Cruz
  7. Kutter throwing cookies to a team that typically doesn't hit for power. He needs to get sharper, and Sox hitters, like Wong did, need to reciprocate, not take Strike 3.
  8. The Red Sox statistical advantages, including W-L records, are not large and reasonably reflect the W-L records, which could reverse within a week's worth of play. These are the teams Boston needs to take series from if they are to make a serious run at the WC slots . I heard a stat yesterday which was amazing. Orioles have now won 22 consecutive series vs AL East opponents .
  9. The purpose of the City Connects is to sell more team apparel/caps on the basis that it relates to the city specifically , not just the baseball team. You never see the team name on a City Connect, only the city name.
  10. Kutter Crawford pitching vs Andrew Abbott (LH) , so we should see Wong catching and Refsnyder in the DH slot . Duran, Hamilton, Devers will have to suck it up. Only one RS batter has ever faced Abbott , that being Tyler O'Neill who is 0-2. Looking at a long list of team stats, the Sox should be able to beat the Reds in this series. Boston outranks Cincinnati in most hitting and pitching line items. Can we pump this streak up to 10 ? That would affect a lot of the thinking going into July and the eventual trade deadline. Nobody said it was going to be easy, Craig
  11. By the way , Boone pulled him from the lineup when Aaron realized Dugo was wearing two chains, not just the allowed 1.
  12. Hope people realize I was joking on Martin. Glad he is back and it was actually an important play because the infielders would not have been able to help
  13. I did see that and sure enough the Yankees got to Kimbrel in the bottom of 9th for a run to take the game into extras.
  14. Now that the team has 40 wins, I'll gladly accept all donations. Let's sweep the Reds
  15. There's the sweep and season high win streak matched at 5 games. Good to see Chris Martin have an inning to get himself back in the mix.
  16. Martin's throw to first was weak. Needs to improve
  17. From watching them in the field, I'd say Blue Jays are on the edge of dysfunctional tonight.
  18. Dalbec must look at Valdez and Duran and say, why can't I be like them. " I coulda been somebody"
  19. Bello continues to show problems . Yes, some rollers that got through warped defenses but then a walk. About to blow the lead with no outs in the 4th. SMH
  20. Bello vs Kevin Gausman. Sorry for having to set this up early but have to be in San Diego today , not available later. Gausman is 5-5 with a 4.08 ERA and lower WHIP than Bello. Sox win last night did not look good until they won it late. But still a key win to claim the series. Big test for Brayan Bello in this game. ERA has blown up to 5.00, despite a winning record of 6-4 . 63 innings in 12 starts defines the 5 inning starter which burns up BP's. Criswell sent down temporarily , with 3 days off over next 3 weeks, to add to the BP. Who is coming in , Winckowski ? Red Sox going for their 5th win which would match their longest win streak of 2024 , going back to the initial road trip March 31-April 5 when they beat the Mariners, A's 3 straight and followed up with 1 vs the Angels.
  21. A 100 mile hike starts with a single step. Sogard may be So Good, maybe not. I thought Nick the Greek was next in line at 1B ?
  22. So Splendid our streak goes on, thanks to a couple timely hits by O'Neill and Cedanne, and a shutdown 9th by Jansen. You need to start the thread tomorrow if you want to pick it up. Another series win to cement the team's position away from the AL East basement flat. Nice to get the sweep tomorrow.
  23. The gas tank running dry tonight. Looks like some of the April mess-ups with LoBs
