  1. Contemporary baseball committee does not vote Curt Schilling into the Hall Of Fame. Ridiculous! Fred McGriff gets in instead. Pleeeeeeeaaaseeee!
  2. Not excited by this move.
  3. 1.5 million for a guy that sucks is not a bargain.
  4. Now they trade for Hoy Park who hit .216 last year with the Pirates. These moves are killing me. Horrible.
  5. Not getting excited about a guy who has been with 5 teams and had a 4.47 ERA last year. That is a nothing move. It does nothing to improve the team.
  6. Can you say John Smoltz?
  7. KC Is ranked ahead of the Red Sox because they have much better young major league players.
  8. 23rd now based on who the Sox will lose off the end of the year team. Not a pretty site.
  9. Per ESPN 2023 power rankings: 23. Boston Red Sox 2022 record: 78-84 (fifth in the AL East) 2022 final ranking: 17 It's hard to know what to make of the Red Sox right now with two last-place finishes sandwiched around a playoff trip in 2021. Xander Bogaerts was their best player in 2022, and he's expected to opt out of his player option and head into free agency. Boston can slide Trevor Story over to shortstop, although his arm strength is an issue, so maybe the Red Sox will sign another of the free-agent shortstops (or a stopgap until top prospect Marcelo Mayer is ready). Their top two pitchers via WAR were Michael Wacha and John Schreiber, which is not a path to success, as the Red Sox finished 22nd in the majors in rotation ERA and 26th in bullpen ERA. Wacha, Nathan Eovaldi and Rich Hill are all free agents, which is 69 starts to figure out. The hope is 30 of those will come from Chris Sale, who made just two starts in 2022 after suffering a stress fracture in his rib cage, a broken pinkie and then a fractured wrist in a bicycle accident. Some veterans like Alex Verdugo and Enrique Hernandez are capable of better seasons, and the Red Sox have money to spend, but this feels like a roster in disarray. Doesn't sound too promising right now. #23 with teams like the Royals, Angels and Cubs ahead of them. Bloom has a LOT of work to do to salvage his job.
  10. DD would have put a much better team on the field than Bloom did. It may not have made the WS but it would have been much better than the 2022 Sox team was.
  11. Say what you want but Dave Dombrowski got another team to the World Series. Meanwhile, the Sox are languishing in the bottom of the AL East.
  12. As I was telling the Yankee troll three or four months ago when he was bragging them up, they would never get by the Astros. At least the Red Sox took the Astros to six games. Once again, the Yankees didn’t win anything. I hate the Astros also. I’m happy for Vasquez, but go Phillies.
  13. On a bright note, the Skankees are one game from elimination.
  14. JBJ sucked. Huge mistake to trade for him.
  15. They are at the top of the All Time Jerks list.
  16. Another mundane move that looks like a move to make a move. It does nothing to improve the team. Another journeyman pitcher with a plus 5 ERA.
  17. With what the Sox are paying him we have to hope he can contribute something. I want him to do well.
  18. Barnes could be useful next year if he can avoid walks.
  19. Barnes will close.
  20. Can't agree more. Remy and Eck together was awesome. Eck can't be replaced. He is the best in the business.
  21. I was in St. Louis over the weekend and saw him hit #701 and #702. Magical time in a great baseball city. Albert is a special player and person.
