    I think it can officially be said that Story is injury prone. Not a good thing. As Bill always has said, "The best part of ability is availability".

    Looking back at the 2016, 2017, 2018 and 2019 MLB draft, I have not heard of any of the players taken at #73, 74, 131 or 132. MLB draft is a crap shoot. Half of first rounders never see the majors.

    I am extremely glad that the Red Sox signed Devers. Its not my money, right? He is a really good player and the Sox had to get him signed or the fan base would jump ship. That being said, this will probably be a bad deal in years 8-11. I hope not but if Raffy gives the Sox 7 really good years it will be hard to complain. Lets hope Mayer and some other youngsters turn out to be really good so they can be starters and contributors under cheap contracts.

    John Henry booed at Bruins game. Rightfully so. What have you done for us lately. The Sox can't rest on 2004, 2007, 2013 and 2018 forever. (Although Skanks have won only once during that time). They need to spend the money to be competitive again. And spend it wisely (Sandoval, Crawford, Cameron, Smoltz, etc). As they stand now, a last place finish is a big possibility. I don't think they will finish last but right now my excitement level for this team and this season is a 1 on a scale of 10.

    Voit could platoon at first and hit 20 homers. Easily. He has tremendous power.

    The Corey Kluber from 5 years ago would be a great signing. This version, not so much. He won't put up better numbers than Wacha did.

    If they sign Iggy, he plays SS and Story stays at second where is is very good. I would be ok with that for infield defense.

    Yes. It only takes one team to be crazy. Can you imagine Raffy in Yankee Stadium with that short porch? I don't want to think about it. After retiring in 2013 I took a trip to Spring Training. I watched Raffy as a 17 year old on the back fields. It would be hard to see him in another uniform but with the Sox new spending limitations and Chaim Bloom at the controls, that is a likely scenario.

    I am sure that Devers and his agent don't believe they are wrong in their asking price. They are not going to compromise. They probably figure that the Sox offer is the worst they could do in free agency.

    Their top 5 prospects plus a major league starting pitcher should do it.
