  1. To be fair, AC can only work with the players the front office gives him and right now they aren't giving him much. Plus injuries have taken Casas, Story, Matsasaka and O'Neill. They aren't great but they are better than the guys he has now. Portland Sea Dogs have the best Sox players.
  2. There was not conclusive evidence to overturn that steal by Cedanne. NY screws the Sox again.
  3. That is not a tough standard. Its just that people are more accepting of mediocrity today than they used to be. Just like hitting. There are not near as many .300 or better hitters than there used to be. Today, a 3.50 ERA is considered good. 6 innings is a quality start. 200 innings is a milestone. Everything is watered down today.
  4. He is a .500 pitcher who has had one year with a sub 3 ERA. Not worth the money he was seeking. Sox were smart to pass on him. Give the money to Houck who they drafted and developed.
  5. For everyone who was wanting the Sox to throw a lot of money and years at Jordan Montgomery, he has 3 wins and a 5.48 ERA. His ERA over his last 6 starts is 6.61. He is getting lit up. It is another example of why you should spend big bucks on older pitchers who weren't that good for most of their careers. Montgomery 41-37 with 3.78 ERA for his career. Certainly not worth 20 million a year or anything close to that.
  6. Good and great 7th and 8th guys are not a dime a dozen. Whitlock was an elite 7th and 8th inning guy before the Sox decided to make him a mediocre starter and it led to him getting hurt. Now he's done for a long time. Stupid!
  7. Now he will have to have another TJ surgery of some type and be out for all of next year. I hope he comes back and is able to pitch. If he does, it has to be as an 8th inning guy.
  8. And who cares if he wanted to be a starter. That was not in his or the team's best interest. He was under contract. An employee does what the boss says. The boss screwed this up royally. Bloom and Breslow.
  9. It was NEVER a good idea to make Whitlock a starter. He was a weapon in the bullpen. He had TJ surgery. They ruined him just like they did with Daniel Bard.
  10. Its very good and I watch it when I see it on but I have to go with Sandlot as my favorite. Major League is also a great baseball movie.
  11. Especially watching them in person
  12. Sox have very few hitters in their lineup
  13. Red Sox are a last place team unfortunately
  14. Cora waits until the game is out of hand to pull Slaten
  15. I am here in St. Louis for tonight's game. Beautiful day here. Lots of Red Sox fans walking around the Arch area and my hotel. Go Sox!
  16. Before this year he has hit great in the minors and pretty good in the majors. Have to give him more time considering he missed most of Spring Training. But, he has to learn to lay off breaking balls in the dirt that aren't close to strikes. Otherwise, he is going to see alot of those.
