    Josh Fields had some success after Houston took him from the Sox in 2012 Rule 5 draft. 6 pretty good seasons as hard throwing reliever. Better than a lot of guys the Sox had in their pen over that time.

    He had 6 seasons with an E.R.A. below 3 and he saved 32 games one season, 29 another and 22 another. Not too bad for a Rule 5 guy. Most teams would want a guy like that. He threw hard in his prime.

    I know they won't do it because of his past, but the guy out there with the most talent who can play 2B, SS and 3B is Addison Russell. He is only 25 and can be an all star. Someone is going to give him a chance. They should also pursue Blake Treinen and see if they can get him right.

    Sox aren't getting a SP in free agency unless he is is cheap. If they wanted someone for 10 million a year they could bring back Porcello.

    Do the Yankees think Scott Boras is going to stand for this? Or do they think he will steer future players to them if they pull this crap? They are just trying to cheap out because Ellsbury was a Fosbury Flop and they have egg on their face. Cheapskates. They can always raise ticket prices to pay for it.

    The whole point of this thread is that the Sox were right for letting Ellsbury go and the Yankees were wrong for signing him him. That is all. Talking about other moves made after that by either team is irrelevant to the fact that sometimes teams have to let guys go and not over pay them based on what they have done in the past. The BB method.

    Sox got Michael Kopech with draft pick compensation for Ellsbury. That worked out.

    I think they should award the Yankees the 2017, 2018 and 2019 World Series Championships.

    If they are going to sanction a bench coach, why stop there. Why not all the coaches, the owners, GM, and the players. They were all part of it. Where does it stop? Fine the team, suspend the manager, take away some draft picks and ban them from signing international players for a year.

    Agree. It wasn't Cora's job to assemble the team. DD gave him no bullpen and the SP turned to crap. That is not Cora's fault. He may not have done as good a job as 2018 but he could have been a great manager in 2019 and not won with the roster he had. You can't make chicken salad out of chicken sh*t.

    I think there is a good chance that they trade JDM to Texas or the White Sox if they really want to get under 208 Million. I hope they don't. With him, they will be very competitive depending on what they do with Mookie. JBJ and Pedey make 24.75M between them. Geez! Wish they could get out of those. JBJ almost certainly is gone while Pedey will stay and collect his.

    That is what everyone wants. By competitive, I hope you mean make the playoffs because two or three more years with no playoffs isn't going to sit well with Sox Nation. I'd be happy if they could get rid of Price and his whiny attitude.

    Wish they could keep Brock but he will want too much money and they are cutting payroll. He is a glue guy but not a full time starter. I think he is gone. Maybe they can sign his son to a futures contract.
