Giolito has given up less runs this inning than in the first. Something for him to build on. Looks like the ball is coming out of his hand really well. Just barely missing his location. Lot of soft contact against him today.

Hall of Famer Mike Schmidt hit .196 his rookie season. I also remember a rookie second baseman for the Sox who struggled for a long time in 2007.

All 4 minor league teams won tonight:) Roman Anthony hit his 9th HR. Grissom 2-4. Blaze Jordan who was recently promoted to Worcester went 1-4 in his debut. He could be an answer at 1B sooner than later. 19 year old SS Franklin Arias is shooting up the prospect list, hitting .379 at high A Greenville after a slow start after promotion from low A Salem. He can run too.

If he learns the strike zone and is patient, I think he could develop into a solid hitter. The Sox are banking on that and are going to give him every opportunity.
