I love Porcello's contributions during his time with the Sox. He was dependable and accountable. He loved playing for the Sox. That being said, he is well past his prime and the Sox should not sign him unless he plays for the minimum, like Jake Taylor did for the Guardians.
He will want more than that and he isn't worth it. These are garbage time games. Can't put any stock in what anybody is doing now that it doesn't matter.
In almost every draft, there are better players taken after #5 than the #5 pick. The greatest player in the game, Mike Trout was taken 25th. Trey Ball, #7 overall is a bust. You never know in the baseball draft.
Eck was right about Bradley and Price is a jerk. Good riddance to him. JBJ is not going to be worth the money he wants. He is not a young prospect anymore. Let him go. I'd rather they play Duran in CF than JBJ.
Getting rid of David Price was a genius move. He didn't want to play here. He has a lousy attitude. Good riddance. I thank him for finally pitching well in the 2018 playoffs but it wasn't enough to keep him here.
Its not going to take 5-10 years to rebuild. By next year and the year after the Sox will have plenty of money to spend and they will get some good draft picks in next year's draft. They could contend again in 2 years.
