  1. I hope he can stay healthy and continue to build on his good month of June. With what the Sox have invested they need him to contribute, both offensively and defensively. Mayer can play second (or third if Bregman opts out). Maybe Campbell comes back as a first baseman and Casas can be a DH/1B if he is not traded. Cedanne is really starting to develop and may explode next year with more experience. They have four good outfielders now. Navarez looks like a keeper at catcher. With Crochet as the anchor, they need to get a solid rotation for next year. If they can tighten up the defense and play more fundamental baseball, they could be a really good team next season,.
  2. If he was halfway looking at the play he could have got back in time if it was caught and scored when it wasn't. Instead, he put his head down and started running back to second when he thought it might be caught, Would have been 5-4 with a man on second. Bad play.
  3. Agreed. He was dead to me when he wouldn't try first base. He was a third baseman for 15 years. He was just sticking it to the Sox.
  4. See if the Dodgers want him if the Sox pay 80% of his remaining salary. Addition by subtraction,
  5. They are a terrible situational hitting team. They also strike out way too much. I have to think the hitting coaches are going to be fired.
  6. He should only pitch in long relief until he gets his act together
  7. Bad base running by Romy and terrible AB by Wilyet cost the Sox two runs
  8. Navarez bails out Buehler.
  9. This team is so hard to watch. No leadership from players or management. Horrible at fundamentals. No power. Terrible fielding. Horrible baserunning. Might as well trade anything of value outside of young guys and Crochet. Fire Cora and Breslow. Get a new owner who cares about the team.
  10. Toro didn't move the runner by hitting to the right side and then he compounds his mistake by getting thrown out at second. Sox relying on guys who shouldn't be starting on a good team.
  11. Zero is an appropriate number for Buehler because he has nothing. What a bum!
  12. 99.99999% of MLB second basemen would have caught that ball. Professional ballplayers are supposed to be able to catch a hard hit line drive right at them. 90% of posters here would have caught it.
  13. Although, in fairness to Bello, the umpire did miss some pitches that AB.
