  1. The only new rule that had been discussed that I actually liked was putting the pitcher on a timer. Of course, that was the one that didn't happen.
  2. Another opportunity down the toilet. SOX continue to refuse Toronto's help.
  3. Toronto's 1st baseman should wear hockey goalie equipment.
  4. 86mph with movement is much better than 97mph with no movement. That's called pitching.
  5. Btw, was Cash the first manager to employ the BP to pitch an entire game?
  6. How did a SOX back-up catcher become, perhaps, the best manager in baseball?
  7. No matter how this game turns out it won't be a completely shitey night because the Yankems already lost.
  8. Valdez has been pretty special, so far.
  9. Relief pitchers can have good stuff; just ask ECK.
  10. It is getting late, but they haven't turned the lights off yet.
  11. A starting reliever is an oxymoron, but I think your idea is a good one.
  12. The NHL has a firm salary cap that no team can go over. Would anyone here like to see that in baseball?
  13. Berra once said "It's getting late early out there."
  14. The most consistent thing about baseball is how inconsistent it is.
  15. Ted Williams wrote the greatest book on hitting and I wonder how many non-pitching major leaguers have read it. I always remembered from reading Ted's book how strongly the Splinter felt about using a lighter bat. Ted firmly believed in the velocity of the swing. I believe Ted employed a 31oz bat.
  16. 84 mph fastball. That's Velveeta cheese.
  17. Imagine Richards pitching to Eddie Gaedel.
  18. Baseball rules state a batter must have a bat when he's in the batter's box. Even if he is only 3 feet high.
  19. No! No! A thousand times NO.
  20. Eck has a short memory. Ryu, Toronto's starter yesterday, was throwing around 85 mph.
  21. With the SOX 3, 4 and 5 starters you may get that feeling a lot this season.
