  1. At least the SOX have their best line-up available for tonight's game.
  2. Hope the SOX can leave a large dent on deGrom's minuscule ERA tonight. No BRUINS' game tonight, so I'll be watching the SOX live.
  3. Nice win. If Boston is going to contend this season, these are the type of games they have to win. The bats aren't going to be alive every game. Just a great display of pitching by everyone concerned. DVR'd this game because I watched the BRUINS beat the Pens earlier.
  4. I'd prefer Dugo over Renfroe, but, who knows, Renfroe may have a 'blind squirrel' evening.
  5. An unbelievable year for Pedro. He finished the season with an ERA under 2. Second in ERA that year in the AL was Clements with an ERA over 3. I seriously doubt that will ever happen again.
  6. That E-Rod didn't pitch last year and that he started this season with a missed start because of a tired arm, I find it quite amazing that he's 4-0.
  7. All humans have bad days; let's hope DeGrom is human enough to have one.
  8. It would solve a lot of problems if JD had some experience at 1st base. Similar to Ortiz, who, btw, played very decent defense.
  9. I'm quite happy at this point that the SOX are the only team in the AL East to be over .500.
  10. Imho, Richards has a better shot at pitching a 9 inning shutout than hitting a dinger.
  11. In 1968 YAZ led the AL in batting with a .301 average. He also led the league in walks and on-base percentage.
  12. The major league batting average as of today is .232. The lowest since 1968. I believe the pitching mound was lowered the following year.
  13. Marwin may be the SOX best defensive SS and best defensive 1st baseman. And he's doing it with 2 different type of gloves.
  14. Spring training for Ted Williams: Sufficient time in the batter's cage and then off to do some fishing.
  15. The Manny comparison is interesting. Both were advised to take their meds, but only Devers did.
  16. Definitely, having a short memory in baseball is a plus, especially for relief pitchers.
  17. Speaking of Marwin's contract; the contract that Price signed with the SOX would equal Marwin's contract after Price started 3 games.
  18. For a 1yr/3,000,000 contract, Marwin has been a good pick-up. He is a very good utility fielder and if he can hit at least .250, he would be a steal.
  19. Buckner was a gamer. He would run into walls attempting to make a catch. He also appeared in what I consider the funniest episode of CURB YOUR ENTHUSIASM. It was titled MR SOFTEE, in which Bill made a terrific catch.
  20. Hunter has a powerful swing. Can't wait to see what happens if he ever makes contact.
  21. Fun to see another team's pitchers provide the music for 'a walk in the park.'
  22. That's not fair. SOX manager leaves his pitcher in longer than that when said pitcher is ineffective.
