  1. How many different positions can these 'can't hit a lick' play at a high level? Btw, Marwin's ERA is 0.00.
  2. He does play very good defense, which is also part of the game. I guarantee if Marwin was playing SS tonight, well, I think you get the idea.
  3. On the other side of the coin, picking up Andriese and Santana means that Bloom isn't batting 1.000. Marwin isn't anything to write home about, but he is the type of player a team needs when that team has a truckload of relievers.
  4. Besides Renfroe, Whitlock and Ottavino were also excellent grabs by Bloom. Pivetta may also turn into a steal.
  5. In fairness to the pitchers, the league has done everything it can to favor the batters. Runs, especially HR's, bring the fans to the ballpark. Even allowing batters to wear armor at the plate favors the batter.
  6. Back sometime in the 60's the manager of the White Sox(I forgot his name) warned his pitchers to never throw near Yaz's head. "It just makes him mad and he becomes a .500 hitter."
  7. LOL! My opinion of the pitching in MLB is that it's so bad the league should allow the pitchers to throw behind an L-screen for their own safety.
  8. One more thing about Renfroe's superb defense this season, so far, is that he's not playing half his games in just any RF; he's playing in the most difficult RF in MLB.
  9. Somebody, maybe it was you, posted that if the league reduced the number of teams to 20, the quality of the game would improve dramatically. But, of course, that will never happen because quantity of money will always trump quality.
  10. Dave Parker of the Pirates had an accurate canon.
  11. Renfroe was the only player signed by Bloom who has significantly helped our offense. And now he is probably the SOX best defensive player. Thank you, Bloom.
  12. He's our Jeter. Very good bat, average glove.
  13. MC reminds me of Altuve; they both swing a lot at 1st pitches. And that is where the similarity ends.
  14. 3 unearned runs. I wonder what the SOX record would be if they only gave up mostly earned runs?
  15. That didn't take long. Can't give good offenses 4 outs.
  16. Paul O'neill has a voice like a nail scraping a chalk board.
