D-Hern also has 2 pitches; slider and fastball. A batter can guess slider, get the slider, and still miss it. As long as it's a functioning slider.

KC thrower had 2 pitches. FB and CU. JD guessed CU on 1st pitch and drove in 2.

As far as fastballs are concerned, thirty years ago the speed of the fastball was measured when it crossed home plate. It's now measured a few feet from the release. Also years ago there were more pitchers and fewer throwers.

I have more faith that Sale will help the starting rotation more than anyone the SOX will bring up from the farm. Even if Sale begins in the BP, it's still a major plus.

As the SOX approach the half-way point of the season and tied with 2 other teams with the best record in MLB, who would you choose as the SOX MVP right now? This is tough, but I would go with Devers, although I would, as a group, give it to the SOX BP.
