  1. Dalbec's body language at the plate is not the language of confidence. Smart pitchers* pick that up real soon. *a rare animal according to Ted Williams.
  2. Nice play by Bogey. Slower runners help make good defensive plays.
  3. Speaking of pitchers who can't throw strikes, I was watching the Mets beat the Yankems earlier today. The Mets' manager brought in a reliever named Castro, who in 115 innings pitched in the major leagues had walked 158 batters. So, of course, he walked the 1st two Yankems he faced.
  4. The 6th inning nightmare. Hoped he go 6, but hoping is not doing.
  5. Eck had no complaints pitching there.
  6. When the SOX come back at .500 from the west coast trip, that's considered successful.
  7. There's almost as much foul territory as fair territory on that football field.
  8. With the way shifts are used it's a luxury to have a strong-armed 2nd baseman.
  9. I wonder what the record is for pop ups in a 9 inning game?
  10. Guy's given up 1 run in 4 innings and there's still complaints.
  11. Irwin should hire the Squat & Leavitt Law Firm and sue for lack of support.
  12. Lots of poop outs in this game.
  13. Ohtani is treating MLB like it was Little League, except his father isn't the manager.
  14. It'll be difficult to get into the A's BP at this rate.
  15. I was wondering how soon before this qualified as a 'come from behind?'
  16. Is it Brooks Devers or Rafi Robinson?
  17. Last two times Kike has caught the ball it's been a catchem throwem out DP.
  18. Potential, imho, is a meaningless word.
  19. Surprisingly, the Mets are leading the Yankems 8-3 going into the bottom of the 8th. The surprise isn't that they're beating the Yankems; the surprise is they actually scored 8 runs. The Mets offense is, to put it kindly, weak. Included in today's Yankem line-up are 'muscle bound' Stanton, followed by 'muscle head' Voit, and bringing up the rear 'penis head' Gardner.
  20. Well thought out post, MAX.
  21. I haven't heard this mentioned concerning the foreign substance rule effecting ML pitchers. I can't prove this but from a common sense point of view I would think pitchers with larger hands would be less effected by this rule. Pedro had exceptionally long fingers and it definitely effected his movement on pitches.
  22. Didn't know that. So some Saturday night down the line there's a good chance I'll be screwed by FOX.
  23. And the one hit that E-rod gave up was the run-saving gem by X-man in the 2nd inning. That, imho, made up for X-man's poor at-bats.
