    SOX have Rays right where they want them. It's time for come-back city. Note to Bogey: You are going to get a fastball down the middle on the 1st pitch, because the pitcher and catcher know you don't swing at the first pitch. Next time up why don't you surprise them.

    As this series goes on, please just remember that the SOX did remove the Yankems from the PO's. That alone is worth celebrating no matter what happens against the Rays.

    Well, the SOX did lead the AL in 3-run homers, which implies that base stealing was not a priority. I was shocked the 1st time I heard that the SOX led in 3-run homers. I would not have been shocked at all if I'd heard that the SOX led the league in solo homers.

    I certainly hope they do, but even that wouldn't be as shocking as Joey Gallo having only 2 sacrifice flies in his career.

    Here's a stat that should blow your mind. Joey Gallo of the Yankems has 2 sacrifice flies in his whole career. Maybe the main reason Nevins sent Judge on Stanton's double.

    Watched the Cards/Dodgers game last night. As good as the Dodgers' starters are, their BP may be even better.

    I seriously doubt that A-rod's quotes will have the staying power of Berra quotes. Yogi had a sense of humor and a functioning brain; two things missing from A-rod's plate.

    Good news: Tonight's game against the Rays will be televised on FS1, which means no Matt Vasgersian and, thank goodness, no A-rod. The announcers will be Joe Davis and John Smoltz.

    Having two wild card teams seems like a good idea except when it isn't. Last night a team that was 16 games behind the other WC team, had a shot at moving on by winning one game. That really lessens the importance of the regular season. I know it's about money, so I'm sure that 2 WC teams will remain. Here's an interesting fact. If MLB had stayed with the one WC team format, the Yankems and the SOX would still have had that one game winner take all at Fenway.

    Dugo should play in all the PO games no matter who is pitching. He has earned that.
