  1. I thought 8 PM starts during the week were because it's prime time and the price of commercials are higher. Never exclude the money angle.
  2. Baz being a RH pitcher may have Cora putting Schwarber at lead-off tonight. If JD returns to the line-up, most likely Schwarber will play 1st base. One note of concern for the SOX is that they've never faced Baz and usually that favors the pitcher. But 'usually' doesn't mean 'always' so who knows?
  3. You're welcome, MAX. 7 PM is much more sensible than 8 PM.
  4. Btw, tonight's game will again be televised on FS1 starting at 7:02 PM. Sunday's game at Fenway will be televised on the MLB network starting at 4:07 PM.
  5. True. The SOX didn't win 93 games because of speed. Speed kills and usually the SOX are the victim.
  6. By the time Zim reached Pedro, Zim was already exhausted and probably would have collapsed on his own w/o any help from Pedro.
  7. Florida is about golf, Mickey Mouse Land, football, and dying. In fact, it's appropo that the Rays play their games in a mausoleum.
  8. Max, why didn't you blame Cora, who should have removed the shift with a fast runner on 3rd? It's alright to sometimes blame Cora. He's not god, oh wait, nevermind.
  9. They've always been well-managed under Cash. The Rays have, imho, the best analytics in baseball and Cash uses them to a tee. He doesn't manage with his gut; he strictly goes with the numbers.
  10. Neither the SOX or the Rays are going to win the WS. At this point it appears the Rays will linger longer, but in the end it will be a failure by both teams. The SOX in recent years have been successful 4 times. The Rays have the smallest payroll.
  11. Ted Williams probably would have hit 700 HR's if he had swung at pitches an inch out of the strike zone.
  12. Must score tomorrow. Baby steps.
  13. Devers leads the major leagues in total bases since 2019. He definitely needs to change his approach at the plate.
  14. Is this a one game PO? I thought it was best of 5.
  15. You've just achieved a perfect score for dumbest post of the night. Unfortunately, there's no cash prize.
  16. He was over swinging in the last game against the Nats and shaking his hand right before he hit the two HR's. So, I don't know what's going on with Devers. I know if I swung that hard, I'd be in traction for weeks.
  17. W/O Devers the SOX would be playing golf and I would be watching the movie Halloween tonight.
  18. Fire Island blows it past Devers.
  19. Baseball was never meant to be played in a circus tent.
  20. Well, Cora could have removed the shift. Just saying.
  21. Well, he picked a 'perfect' time to get his 1st one.
  22. The big difference is the SOX can say good-bye to E-rod and cost them nothing. The Yankems still have 7 years of Cole at 34 million per year.
  23. E-rod did about as well for the SOX tonight as Cole did for the Yankems on Tuesday.
  24. After his stupid injury, I wonder if JD will continue to step on 2nd base when he goes to the OF. If he needs a superstitious maneuver, just jump over the foul lines. Or, better yet, don't let him play in the OF.
  25. True, but in the case of the SOX a guy with a higher OBP would be preferable.
