  1. The booth was yapping about Story's athleticism, which reminded me that Jim Brown came to Syracuse University via a lacrosse scholarship. He was so dominant at lacrosse that some lacrosse rules were changed because of his skills.
  2. Dalbec's body language at the plate illustrates to the chUMP that he will not argue any call. Dalbec: Was that a strike? chUMP: Yup Dalbec: Gosh.
  3. Franchy has a very small 'hot spot' at the plate, and I blame the opposing pitcher for not finding it.
  4. We SOX fans are about a 10 game winning streak away from being able to call the O's lousy.
  5. I get the feeling that if Story was even moved to the OF, he'd be good there also. Similar to Kike, but w/o the pop-ups.
  6. I believe I read somewhere that pop-up doubles can only be driven in by another pop-up double.
  7. Looks like Devers also took this second game off.
  8. The worst thing about selling aluminum siding during my short time doing it was I'd call a potential customer and make an appointment. Now this was way before cell phones, so I'd drive 20 or so miles to their house and, of course, no one was home. Rodney Dangerfield: "My girlfriend called me last night and told me to come on over; there's no one home. So I drove to her house and, yup, there was no one home."
  9. Nope, I quit and took a job at a bank. Maybe I should have gone into vinyl siding.
  10. He's making 'serious' money, so I say yes, he will be.
  11. I actually feel bad for Winck. His family and friends were there to see him succeed. I'm glad my family and friend wasn't there on my first day of work. I sucked at selling aluminum siding.
  12. Sign reads at every SOX minor league facility: "If you're looking for pitching, look elsewhere."
  13. We didn't lose a Weber; we gained a Winck.
  14. Nothing worse than giving up a base hit on an 0-2 count. Clubs used to fine pitchers for that.
  15. Just donate my winnings to Cure For Baldness.
  16. JBJ was robbed. Hopefully, we are witnessing the beginning of a Dalbec hot streak.
  17. Didn't the SOX once have a pretty good pitcher whose first name was Josh?
  18. Reyes very economical and he appears to be throwing his patented pop-up pitch.
