    It's about time someone mentioned JH in this discussion. He hired Bloom for a reason. I'm guessing the reason was he wants the SOX to operate the same way Tampa did. Develop SOX players in the minors and then get rid of them when they become too expensive and every once in a while sign a free agent. JH is tired of getting burned with long term and expensive contracts. Btw, he did buy the SOX 4 championship teams over the last 18 years.

    As far as who I would pick as the best all-around athlete I've ever seen. It would have to be Bo Jackson and Jim Brown would be second.

    Jim Brown hated Franco Harris, especially after Harris passed him in rushing yards. Brown told the press that Harris was a gutless runner, who ran out of bounds instead of fighting for more yardage. Exactly the opposite of how Jim Brown played the game. In his career Brown averaged over 100 yards per game rushing and was, by far, the best running back in the history of the game.

    The booth was yapping about Story's athleticism, which reminded me that Jim Brown came to Syracuse University via a lacrosse scholarship. He was so dominant at lacrosse that some lacrosse rules were changed because of his skills.

    Dalbec's body language at the plate illustrates to the chUMP that he will not argue any call. Dalbec: Was that a strike? chUMP: Yup Dalbec: Gosh.

    Franchy has a very small 'hot spot' at the plate, and I blame the opposing pitcher for not finding it.

    We SOX fans are about a 10 game winning streak away from being able to call the O's lousy.

    I get the feeling that if Story was even moved to the OF, he'd be good there also. Similar to Kike, but w/o the pop-ups.

    I believe I read somewhere that pop-up doubles can only be driven in by another pop-up double.
