  1. The worst thing about selling aluminum siding during my short time doing it was I'd call a potential customer and make an appointment. Now this was way before cell phones, so I'd drive 20 or so miles to their house and, of course, no one was home. Rodney Dangerfield: "My girlfriend called me last night and told me to come on over; there's no one home. So I drove to her house and, yup, there was no one home."
  2. Nope, I quit and took a job at a bank. Maybe I should have gone into vinyl siding.
  3. He's making 'serious' money, so I say yes, he will be.
  4. I actually feel bad for Winck. His family and friends were there to see him succeed. I'm glad my family and friend wasn't there on my first day of work. I sucked at selling aluminum siding.
  5. Sign reads at every SOX minor league facility: "If you're looking for pitching, look elsewhere."
  6. We didn't lose a Weber; we gained a Winck.
  7. Nothing worse than giving up a base hit on an 0-2 count. Clubs used to fine pitchers for that.
  8. Just donate my winnings to Cure For Baldness.
  9. JBJ was robbed. Hopefully, we are witnessing the beginning of a Dalbec hot streak.
  10. Didn't the SOX once have a pretty good pitcher whose first name was Josh?
  11. Reyes very economical and he appears to be throwing his patented pop-up pitch.
  12. Not bad; only 16 pitches to load the bases and get 3 outs.
  13. Kike Devers Story Dugo VAZ Franchy(DH) Dalbec JBJ Arroyo(SS)
  14. Btw, Winckowski averaged just a little over 4 innings per appearance at Triple A. Not expecting another complete game, but I've been wrong before.
  15. Obviously Cora has no faith in his BP and rightly so, except for maybe a couple of guys. So, of course, Cora will extend EO and Pivetta as much as possible. The other 3 starters would be successful if they could just last 5 innings.
  16. D. Reyes (0-0) vs J. Winckowski (0-0) Winckowski making his major league debut because of the SOX 10th game in 9 days. He does have 'win' in his last name so that's encouraging. His WHIP at Triple A is a minuscule 0.853. The SOX BP, thanks to EO, should be better than last night. HOPEFULLY! Go SOX!
  17. EO kept us from ranting about the BP. Great job!
  18. Two complete games by SOX starters. SOX must be near the top in that category.
