  1. B. Bello vs N. Lodolo Pham Devers Bogey JD Dugo REF Kike Chang(1B) Wong Yu's on 1st. Go SOX!
  2. I agree. I like Pivetta and the attitude he displays on the mound. Like I posted earlier I believe his best years are ahead of him and, hopefully, while he's with the SOX.
  3. I remember when the Mets joined the league and how many years it took them to find a reliable 3rd baseman. Btw, the honor of being the Mets' first 3rd baseman goes to Don Zimmer.
  4. OB just announced that the Dodgers won their 100th game yesterday, which prompts me to post that Freddy Freeman, imho, is the best LH hitter in MLB.
  5. Pivetta's career WHIP is 1.38. His WHIP so far this season is 1.34. That's not very good so says Capt Obvious.
  6. It should change to 40-49 after this game.
  7. Won/Lost can be a misleading statistic when evaluating a pitcher's performance, but based on Nick's other pitching stats it seems appropriate that his MLB career W/L is 39-49.
  8. That the SOX are 3rd in the AL in runs scored makes me believe they have to be leading the league in most games scoring 10 or more runs.
  9. SOX improving their run differential.
  10. Yu Chang displaying some power.
  11. Which begs the question why this particular pitcher, who possesses a 98-99 mph fastball, hasn't been taught to throw an effective off speed pitch?
  12. I'm guessing the pitching coach came to the mound and told Ort to just throw fastballs. Good advise because he really doesn't have an effective 2nd pitch.
  13. If intensity was the main factor in producing a great pitcher, then Pivetta would win the Cy Young every year. I like the fact that Nick is there when it's his turn to pitch and that he always gives 100%. Who knows? Maybe his best years are ahead of him. Stay tuned.
  14. Pivettabout the exit velocity.
  15. Just another statistic that enforces the fact there's too many teams in MLB. But this is also true of the 3 other major sports.
  16. Pivetta is an 'innings eater.' That's what starters are called when there isn't much else good to say about them. He's definitely a #5. If he's higher than that, the SOX starting staff is already in trouble.
  17. I find NFL football so boring I'll be listening to music and watching this meaningless game.
  18. K. Bubic vs N. Pivetta Pham Devers Bogey JD REF(RF) Arroyo(1B) Kike Chang McGuire Bubic has an ERA way north of 5, but I still expect this dead line-up to struggle. Just from habit Go SOX!
  19. In fact, in all of MLB only the Giants have won as many championships as the SOX since 2012. And, like the SOX, they won't be winning one this year.
  20. On the positive side since 2012, the SOX have won more championships than any other team in their division. So there's that. Actually, no other team in their division has won a championship since 2009. Hopefully, that will continue.
  21. This will be the 5th time since 2012 the SOX have finished last in their division. Damn, you'd think folks around here would be used to it by now. The SOX either win the championship or they, more times than not, finish last.
  22. Btw, this game qualifies for a position player to pitch.
  23. That post is going to require a lot of analyzing.
  24. You've really been paying attention.
  25. JD may have to seriously cut back on his spending habits next season.
