  1. Today that 50,000 would get you a nice EV.
  2. What's overlooked a lot when talking about Maris is he was an excellent defensive right fielder.
  3. Earlier last week two people won the Illinois state lottery. They will share the prize money of 1.5 billion dollars. Of course, that's before taxes.
  4. The fan that had Maris's 61st HR was given $5,000.00 for the ball. That would equate to $50,000.00 today.
  5. Hindsight is, well you know.
  6. Yup; it's gonna take a multi-year contract from someone. Can't blame him; get the money while you're hot. Once you get it it's yours to keep.
  7. Turns out Arroyo isn't physically injured; he suffering from a non-Covid illness. He'll be no threat ever to Cal Ripken's Iron Man record.
  8. Like I posted a few weeks ago I hope Sale doesn't decide to take up skiing in the off-season.
  9. When I post 'ages,' I'm going back to 2007. That was the debut season of a SOX starter who may hold the SOX record for having his last name misspelled the most.
  10. Speaking of Oscar Wilde, here's one of his well-known quotes: "Work is the curse of the drinking classes."
  11. Now that I think about it, that would be interesting to watch.
  12. The Judge cult at the game would go crazy and start an insurrection.
  13. Sounds more like an Oscar Wilde quote. Hey, Max, here's a quote you don't see too often: "Wait till next year."
  14. At least I now understand why this ESPN baseball announcer sucks so bad. Phil Rizzuto was his role model as a play-by-play guy.
  15. Bello looked good tonight. He's definitely the best starting pitcher to come thru the SOX farm in ages.
  16. That I'm watching this game just shows how much I dislike NFL football. Fortunately, the NHL season begins soon.
  17. In the scheme of things, unless one is a season ticket owner, it's relatively unimportant, imho.
  18. Lucky for Judge that sugar cubes are not on the PED list.
  19. 10 million for Kike. Excellent start to improving this team for next season.
  20. Thank goodness Dalbec can hit. Er, hold on, what's that? Nevermind.
  21. Hey, Bader, there is no history in that particular park.
  22. Kike continues to be the penultimate lead-off batter.
  23. Can the SOX avoid the sweep? Stay tuned. If you don't have anything good to say, this is the perfect place.
  24. The only thing the SOX have done successfully is keeping Judge from hitting his 61st, thus disappointing the F'ing fans at Yankem Park.
  25. I'd keep the BP catcher though.
