  1. Depending on the length of this rain delay, Cora may be forced to take Seabiscuit out of the game.
  2. After pitching a complete game his last start, Lyles may be tired tonight.
  3. True, but there's a good chance one of the position players can pitch better than what normally comes up from the SOX farm. In fact, the motto of the SOX farm when it comes to producing starting pitching is "what a revoltin' development this is."
  4. After the O's have at least a 7 run lead, the SOX will be eligible to bring in a position player to pitch.
  5. Just getting Bello from the SOX farm was a major miracle.
  6. Instead of defending Jackoff, you could have used that time to start tonight's GT. I've taken care of that and I've broken all the rules regarding GT procedure.
  7. We all see things differently, that's why law enforcement is leery of eyewitnesses. It is funny that this particular troll only seems to expose himself here when the Yankems are winning.
  8. I predict that next season will be better. I have no evidence to present, just a hunch. Go SOX!
  9. If a MLB team doesn't win a championship, that team has failed no matter what place they end up in after the regular season. Since you've been a fan, how many times have the Mariners been successful?
  10. If I was Nostradamus, I would know more about next year's SOX team. Obviously, you're a troll who can see into the future. I have read that certain trolls do possess supernatural powers.
  11. You're surprised the ignorant troll made an 'ignorant quote?" Really?
  12. Five last place finishes and 2 championships. As a Mariners' fan you have no reason to gloat.
  13. The best way to perhaps make Dalbec a better MLB player is by having him play in a small market atmosphere.
  14. You should limit your concern to 'Big Game' Cole going into the PO's.
  15. One has to wonder how that '75 WS would have ended if Rice hadn't been injured near the end of that '75 regular season.
  16. Pedro's fast ball never topped 90mph in that game. He just outsmarted them. Btw, don't forget Troy O'Leary had one of the greatest offensive PO's games in that same game with 2 HR's and 7 RBI.
  17. Game 6 of the '75 WS had 3 awesome moments: 1) Carbo's 3-run homer after swinging like a rusty gate on the previous pitch. 2) Evans' web gem catch of Morgan's long shot to right resulting in a double play. 3) And, of course, Fisk's game winning HR that hit the foul pole.
  18. The 6th game of the '86 WS was reminiscent of what we've seen so much this season. A reliever(C. Schiraldi) who easily got the 1st two outs, but couldn't get the 3rd out. In fact, I've posted a couple of times on the GT that if innings were comprised of 2 outs instead of 3, the SOX would have the best BP in MLB.
  19. I agree, but the main Yankem culprit was Lou Pinella.
  20. Before the steroid era made a mockery of all power stats Jim Rice in 1978 had a season for the ages. He led all of major league baseball in triples(15), HR's(46), RBI(139), Slugging(.600),OPS(.992), OPS+(157), and TB(406). He also hit .315 . His 406 TB were the most since Joe DiMaggio's 418 in 1937. Rice also hit 15 triples in 1977.
  21. Another thing that may have helped both Maris and Mantle in their HR barrage in 1961 was the addition of two new franchises in the AL. Both Washington and LA were added.
  22. That's impressive. I would have figured many more HR's at home than away.
  23. I was thinking the same thing. It's all about the park you're playing half your games in for the most part. This really doesn't hold true for Judge this season.
  24. They better spend it wisely.
  25. Location, location, location. Maris was playing in the perfect ballpark for him when he hit 61. It also didn't hurt having Mantle hitting behind him.
